★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1(UPDATED) Still two stars because of the energy, but let me guess, the more they see me they will come around and be nice. Hahaha that is such horse trash! Start off that way is what my family taught me.Another case of people putting energy into non-conducive places in this state.Yesterday I called after researching a bit on other options to have my weed eater serviced. Bridgeport does great but had it a bit too long for me so I trusted in Steve spot which I know has to have been here for a long time and a pillar in the community it when you are a young, black man here in WV you are no longer considered pleasing, happy, or human. You are aggressive so let me be negative first to even what I may think out.I digress, after the wonderful call yesterday w/ the young lady explaining me the small engine details, I couldn’t wait to come in today. As I always do wherever I walk. My intentions are pure from the beginning and I am always met with anger. The gentlemen did not make me feel comfortable on the walk in. I was very unsure of I had the location correct and his face was as if I was up to something. Remember, he is not the only person that gives this expression to me here in wv so I know exactly what it is. I do not appreciate it and I will continue sharing MY experience in a state that says they want to Move forward.I gave two stars because they currently still have my product as of twenty minutes ago and we will return with the overall experience. Being the change you want to see in the world is going to be tough but yourself personality changes and the things you value spreads and that is where real gratitude lies.Next day. 10:34a I receive a call from a nice gentlemen informing me who he was and with what organization and briefly explained everything to me what was wrong with my weed eater and told me it was ready to be picked and I thanked him up and down for their time and service. Before we hung up I asked how much did it cost and he said no charge because it was so small (but a HUGE problem for the non-mechanically inclined one such as myself). I told them I will be in later and have a blessed day. Much respect the this establishment. I will be back and will spread their awesomeness. I blessed them with some form of payment ($34 is what I had on me) because that is what I had already intended on doing after leaving the hospital today. The man from yesterday was there today and he still did not give much of any eye contact and did the thing where white people want you and your confidence to get out of their intimidated, guilty faces. Guilt that I personally have anything to do with. People: always focus on your biases and educate yourself on everything other than yourself and always listen to your grandmothers and remember what cliches teachings they share. Peace and blessings to all. We will be in Richmond and Atlanta next month, more experiences coming soon.
May 08, 2025 · J JMy clutch cable was slipping so I found this garage to do the repairs. I had it towed there and before they even did any kind of troubleshooting a lady named Francis called and said it needs a new clutch for about $1000! I simply asked or them to troubleshoot it and tighten the clutch. They don’t think it had an option to tighten a clutch cable? Really ? Second RED FLAG. They called va k and said the cable is stretched. WOW! Great job on finding the problem! Now Francis said it would be roughly around a little over $500 for everything. NO! I asked how much was the cable????? Francis said around $377. What? For a $100 clutch cable?? I asked to speak to the owner, STEVE! He is worse than Francis. Rudest man ever. Steve kept cutting me off so that he could go to a Rob, steal, and lie to his other customers. STEVE was offended because I called him out. STEVE told me to come and get my car. Right away sir! Gladly sir!
Jun 26, 2025 · Rodney HurdDisappointed and Concerned – Please Read Before Choosing This ShopI purchased a new-to-me Jeep Wrangler and ended up driving to West Virginia experiencing a death wobble, along with issues shifting out of 4-wheel drive—the axle seemed to stay engaged even after switching back to 2WD.This shop is a preferred SilverRock vendor, which is how I found them. At the time, I was 3 days into a 7-day return window, and they took two days to diagnose and replace the steering damper—a part that can mask death wobble symptoms but rarely causes it alone. They also noted my tires needed replacing. A quick Google search will tell you the same thing most Jeep owners know: death wobble is commonly caused by worn ball joints, tie rod ends, control arm bushings, wheel bearings, or track bar issues—not just a steering stabilizer. A damper is often the Band-Aid, not the fix. They had two other Jeeps in their shop—hopefully just for oil changes. Because clearly, in-depth Jeep suspension diagnostics weren’t the priority. Before replacing the damper, the man who answered the phone told me they had “no problem engaging 4WD.” I explained (again) that engaging wasn’t the issue—disengaging was. His response: “That’s not what I was told.” We had already discussed the issue in person—both me and my husband. The comment was unnecessary and dismissive, and matched the cold, unwelcoming vibe I got when I first walked in—and again when I picked up my Jeep.I took the Jeep to another mechanic immediately. They found three bad bearings, bad wheel seals, and a few other issues—all approved by SilverRock for repair. These issues, unlike the damper, are known to cause death wobble. Anyone who specializes in Jeeps—or even regularly works on solid front axle suspensions—should’ve caught that. Now, some might say the treatment I received was based on racism or misogyny. I honestly don’t care what the reason was. What matters is that I was treated with disdain and disregard, and I won’t be back. Maybe they’re one of those “we pick and choose who we serve” shops, but they still advertise and take referrals from big companies like SilverRock. So that attitude? It matters. Here’s the kicker: I’ll be spending thousands on modifications over the next few months—upgrades, lift kit, tires. But now I know better than to trust them with it.They didn’t even test drive the Jeep during inspection. That kind of oversight could’ve cost me the opportunity to return or exchange a dangerous vehicle, or worse—my safety. So here’s what I’ll leave you with:If your shop can’t diagnose a basic suspension issue on a solid axle Jeep, you probably shouldn’t be touching one at all. And if you’re willing to treat someone like a burden while they’re in crisis? That deserves a warning.
Mar 21, 2025 · The Fat Narcissist IncI am incredibly indebted to the hard-working staff here. Last night I hit debris in the highway which caused my car to blow a tire and begin leaking oil. When I arrived here early in the morning, they were very understanding and assured me they would strive to get me back on the road as soon as they could. Not to mention their ability to squeeze me in on what appears to be an already very busy day for them. I couldn’t be more appreciative for such a wonderful group of people.
Sep 16, 2022 · Jayden BehnkenVery disappointed. Heard good things.Had 2 vehicles to be inspected. Drove 30 miles and dropped one off early. Not very friendly, tried to make conversation but it didn't happen. We were told we would hear from them when it was done. Waited and waited. Hours later we stopped by and wete told that they didn't know if it would be done today or tomorrow. No phone call telling us they were overloaded with work and maybe we should come get the vehicle. Wasted 1/2 of our day. Went down the road to Dunbar and they inspected right away. Went back to S&S, got the other vehicle and took that to Dunbar. Waited only an hour. They were friendly and treated us like they valued our business.
