Longhorn Heating & Air Conditioning Introduce
Choosing a general contractor is one of the most critical decisions you'll make for any home or business project. Here in Texas, where weather extremes can put significant stress on our properties, having a reliable and responsive partner is essential. As local residents, we understand the importance of finding a company that not only provides quality work but also offers professional and respectful service. This article aims to provide a comprehensive look at Longhorn Heating & Air Conditioning, a company serving the Rowlett and surrounding Dallas-Fort Worth areas. We'll explore their services, location, and what past customers have to say, offering a factual overview to help you make an informed choice for your next HVAC or contracting need.
A general contractor is responsible for the overall coordination of a project, from start to finish. This includes hiring subcontractors, managing schedules, and ensuring the work is completed to a high standard. In the realm of HVAC, this role is crucial. It means not just showing up to fix a problem, but communicating effectively, providing clear timelines, and handling all aspects of the job with a professional demeanor. When a contractor fails to meet these expectations, it can lead to frustration, project delays, and a negative experience. As a local community, we rely on these services, and understanding a company's track record is a key part of making the right decision for your property.
Longhorn Heating & Air Conditioning is located at 4831 Grisham Dr, Rowlett, TX 75088, USA. This address places them squarely in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, a prime location to serve a wide array of local communities. Being situated in Rowlett allows them to easily reach residential and commercial clients in cities like Garland, Sachse, Rockwall, and beyond. This accessibility is a crucial factor for many homeowners and businesses, as a local presence often means faster response times for urgent repairs, especially during the peak summer and winter seasons when HVAC systems are under the most stress.
The location on Grisham Dr is part of a commercial and industrial area, making it a functional hub for a contracting business. While customers may not frequently visit the physical office, its existence provides a central point for dispatching technicians and managing operations. For locals, knowing the company has a physical, local presence can offer a sense of security and accountability. However, the true measure of a company's accessibility often comes down to its communication and service response, which is a key consideration for anyone evaluating a potential contractor.
Based on their name and business focus, Longhorn Heating & Air Conditioning specializes in services related to HVAC systems. A general contractor in this field would typically offer a wide range of services to meet the needs of both residential and commercial clients. These services often include:
- AC Repair and Maintenance: Addressing issues with existing air conditioning units, such as refrigerant leaks, compressor failures, and electrical problems. Routine maintenance is also a crucial service to prevent breakdowns and ensure systems run efficiently.
- Heating System Services: Providing repair, installation, and maintenance for furnaces, heat pumps, and other heating systems to keep homes and businesses warm during colder months.
- New System Installation: Installing new, energy-efficient HVAC systems for new constructions or as replacements for outdated units. This can include central air systems, ductless mini-splits, and more.
- Ductwork Services: Repairing, cleaning, or installing new ductwork to ensure proper airflow and system efficiency.
- General Contracting: As a general contractor, they would oversee all aspects of an HVAC project, from initial assessment and quote to managing the installation process and ensuring all work meets local building codes.
It is important for any potential customer to inquire about specific services and confirm that the company can meet their particular needs. The scope of a general contractor's work can vary, and direct communication is the best way to ensure there is a clear understanding of what a project entails.
When evaluating a general contractor, a few key features and highlights are often considered most important to local customers. These points speak to a company's operational integrity and customer service philosophy.
- Technician Experience and Knowledge: Customers expect technicians to be knowledgeable and skilled at their trade. While reviews may not always speak to this directly, it's a foundational expectation. A good technician can quickly diagnose a problem and provide an effective solution.
- Communication and Dispatch Process: The ability to get a technician to a customer in a timely manner, especially during emergencies, is a critical highlight. The dispatch team's professionalism and efficiency in managing calls and scheduling appointments are key features that define a customer's initial experience.
- Customer Service: This is a major highlight that can make or break a company's reputation. Politeness, respect, and a willingness to listen to customer concerns are essential. As seen in customer feedback, the way a company handles communication and addresses issues can have a significant impact on customer satisfaction.
- Honesty and Integrity: Trust is paramount in the contractor-customer relationship. Customers look for companies that are transparent about their services, pricing, and how they handle feedback. A business's response to criticism, whether positive or negative, often reveals a lot about its core values.
- Local Presence: Being a local company in Rowlett is a key feature. It suggests a commitment to the community and an understanding of the specific needs of Texas residents. Locals often prefer to support businesses that are part of their community.

For residents of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, the decision of which contractor to hire should be based on a combination of factors, including the scope of services, pricing, and the company's reputation for customer care. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Our main AC failed 7/17 and I called for service. Phone service told me a technician would call. Two hours later the tech called from an unknown cell number and it went to voice mail. I called back two minutes later and it went to the answering service back at the main company. I called four more times with the same result. It's now the next day and still no call.I'm using a different contractor. Don't call these folks.
Jul 18, 2025 · Daniel WarnerI had an absolutely terrible experience with Longhorn Heating & Air Conditioning. Their management and dispatch team are extremely rude and unprofessional. The dispatcher I spoke with was not only impolite but also lacked basic knowledge about their own services. When I politely asked to speak with one of the installers who had worked at my home, she abruptly cut me off, saying there was nothing more they could do for me and refusing to promise a callback.Never in my life have I been spoken to so disrespectfully by a business. I was courteous throughout the conversation and did not deserve such dismissive and unprofessional treatment. If this is how they handle customer concerns, I can only imagine how they run the rest of their business. Save yourself the frustration—this company does not deserve your time or money. And Longhorn, don’t bother responding to this review. You will, of course, try to justify yourselves, but nothing you say will change the reality of who you are.Edit in response to the owner’s reply: Wow, what a complete misrepresentation of what actually happened. I was more than willing to communicate, but I simply asked to speak with a technician instead of being dismissed by an unhelpful and rude dispatcher. Instead of addressing the real issue—your team's rudeness and lack of professionalism—you are twisting the situation to make it seem like I was the problem. That couldn’t be further from the truth. If this is how you handle honest feedback, it only proves my point.
Mar 21, 2025 · Lana MLonghorn Heating & AC installed 2 new HVAC systems in my house (Air con + gas furnance) in early April 2024. They were professional, kept the house clean, and protected the floors. The installation itself was done very well, both inside and out, and they hung the blower units with appropriate support. I would recommend them without hesitation!
Apr 23, 2024 · Dean RidingsI have had great experiences with Longhorn over the last two years. Last year, they were the only one of four HVAC companies that was able to diagnose and fix our home unit without simply recommending a total replacement, worked good as new. This year, we had a surprise outage due to a separate issue and called them back out. They came out twice and were able to find a specific issue with the compressor that was fixed within a day, all for the cost of a service call.Shoutout to our tech Manny who was patient, friendly, and knowledgable while he was here this week.
Sep 02, 2024 · Alex CurtisFirst of all, the office manager, Tess, has been rude for the past 1 year multiple times. Whenever I tried to schedule for maintenance and to pay with her on the phone, but she always gave me an attitude with a tone. Maybe she is not very happy with her job? I was trying to hire your company for service and wanted to pay. She sounds so tired and were not friendly. She may need to take service training courses for better customer service. For technicians, my tenants were not happy with them either. They were rude and not respectful to my tenants. My builder used this company, so I wanted to keep hiring this company for seamless maintenance. But after continuous dissatisfaction with Longhorn, I decided to go with another HVAC firm from now on. I would not recommend this firm at all after consistently disappointing experiences.Updated comment: as many previous reviews on yelp and google, she does not know she has a problem. She replied to customers' complaints with arguments. Sigh- Please read and reflect for the company.
