I'm a remote owner and have called them when there was a problem and it was always taken care of promptly and professionally. About three years ago they installed a new Trane unit and it was a great price and good install. I'm writing this review because I just had to call them again this week and they took care of my problem right away. Being an absentee owner who doesn't get up there very often, I appreciate having a reliable company like Stewart Heating and Air ready to help me when I call.

Aug 28, 2018 · Debra HilgemanStewart was the sub contractor that our builder used to install the HVAC system in our new second home in Hayesville NC.The installation of the system was very slow causing us to fall behind schedule on other finishes during construction.We had family at our home over a long weekend in the spring and the AC stopped blowing cold air. Stewart was contacted, came out and advised the system was not fully charged (with freon) and further advised that sometimes the units are not properly filled when shipped from the factory (don't you think you would check this when you installed the unit to begin with?) charged me $244 to add freon.Fast forward 3 months later to Labor Day weekend 2018 same issue system would not deliver cold air. Stewart back out added more freon and immediately determined that we had a leak in the right front of the evaporator coil, again i was charged $259 to add freon. the service tech advised he would let the owner of the company know (Keith Stewart) and he would contact me to set up repair date.4 weeks later I had not heard back so I called Stewart on 9/27/18 I was advised that Tran would pay for the part but not the labor to install the new coil ( my cost was going to be $1022 per Keith) he also advised I would have to get with Tran to see about getting reimbursed thru Tran for the labor charge. I contacted Tran and created a customer file thru them.I contacted Keith back and advised him to go ahead and order the part he advised he would and the part would be in in about a week this was on 9/27/2018.I did not hear back from Keith so :10/29/18 @ 9:51 AM called Keith's cell phone his mailbox was full so i couldn't leave a message.10/29/18 @ 9:52 AM called his office and had to leave a message.11/6/18 @ 8:50 AM left message on Keith's cell phone11/6/18 @ 8:51 AM called his office and spoke with Angie (Keith's wife) with my concerns and wanted to know if the part had come in, Angie advised that she would get a message to Keith and that he would call me back.12/14/18 turned on the heat in our home and had no warm air.....I called Mountain Air Heating and Cooling out of Hayesville they came out that day and found their was a leak at a solder joint in a copper fitting that Stewart would have made when installing the unit. They re-soldered the copper fitting and no more leak, system is working fine.I would advise you to never use Stewart for installation nor repair. A lot of lies and no customer service at all.

Keith quit returning my phone calls, nor would he or anyone from his company show up to finish and repair the issues. I hired another company to come out. I was told the unit Keith installed was horribly installed incorrect. It was mounted to the ceiling upside down and the ductwork wasn't sealed at all and the ductwork wasn't properly run to heat the space. I just went ahead and paid the new company to finish and correct the issues. Do yourself a favor, don't hire Stewart...

But here we are the end of July 2018 and I cannot get Keith to return a call as to when and if they will be completing the job. If you call the office, the secretary takes a message and tells you she will relay it to Keith and have him contact you...but it never happens. It doesn't take alot of time or effort to return a call and communicate what the plans are. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Word of mouth in a small community is BAD for business.
