Southern Home Services Introduce
When it comes to the essential systems of your home, such as plumbing, heating, and air conditioning, finding a reliable and trustworthy service provider can be a challenge. In the unique climate of Florida, where both efficient cooling and functional plumbing are critical, you need a partner that understands the specific demands of the region. Southern Home Services, a large-scale home services provider, has positioned itself as a significant player in the Florida market by acquiring various local companies to create a comprehensive network. While this business model aims to provide a "one-stop-shop" solution for homeowners, it is important for potential customers to understand the company's structure and reputation based on the experiences of others. This overview is intended to provide a clear and factual look at Southern Home Services, helping Florida residents make an informed decision when it comes to their home comfort needs.
Southern Home Services is a holding company that has been actively acquiring local home service businesses across the United States, including a strong presence in Florida. This strategy is designed to create a large network of services, offering customers a single point of contact for a wide range of needs. While the company's public-facing image is one of a unified brand, the services are often carried out by the acquired local companies, which may still operate under their original names. This structure can lead to varied customer experiences, as highlighted in the provided reviews. One reviewer mentioned that the company "buys up local companies" and then "makes it impossible to contact them," which suggests potential issues with communication and accountability across the new corporate structure. Another detailed review from a customer with major HVAC problems underscores a highly problematic experience, citing failed permits, multiple repair visits for a brand new unit, and ultimately, a lack of communication from the company's management. These negative experiences, while balanced by the company's promotional materials, highlight the importance of thorough research and clear communication when dealing with a large-scale service provider.
Southern Home Services is headquartered at 1060 Maitland Center Commons Blvd, Suite 250, Maitland, FL 32751, USA. This location serves as the corporate hub for their Florida operations and their broader national network. As a large corporation, their business model is built around sending technicians to the customer's location rather than having a local storefront for direct service. Therefore, while the address is the company's official base, all service interactions take place on-site at the customer's home or business. Their wide network of acquired companies across Florida suggests a broad service area, allowing them to dispatch technicians from various local branches to serve a large geographic region. This centralized-decentralized model allows them to offer a wide range of services to a large customer base. The ability to coordinate services across different local companies can be a benefit for customers who require multiple types of work, but the reviews indicate that this can also be a source of confusion and frustration if not managed effectively.
Southern Home Services offers a comprehensive suite of home comfort solutions, encompassing plumbing, HVAC, and electrical services. Their mission, as stated on their website, is to be a one-stop-shop for all your home service needs. By acquiring various specialists in these fields, they aim to provide expert service for everything from routine maintenance to major installations and repairs. The provided customer reviews, however, focus heavily on HVAC issues, with one detailed account of a failed air conditioning installation, incorrect duct sizing, and a persistent lack of resolution. This feedback suggests that while the company advertises a broad range of services, the quality of execution may vary depending on the specific technician or local company handling the job. For potential customers, it is crucial to understand that their services are delivered through a network of local brands, and it is wise to inquire about the specific local company that will be performing the work. It is also important to verify that all necessary permits are obtained and approved, a critical step that one review claims was mishandled.
Based on the provided information and public data, the services offered by Southern Home Services include, but are not limited to:
- Plumbing services, which are a core part of their service offerings.
- HVAC services, including heating and air conditioning installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Electrical services, which are part of their broader home solutions.
- Ductwork installation and replacement, as mentioned in a customer review.
- General maintenance and repair services for home comfort systems.
The company's marketing and business model highlight several features and benefits they promote. These are designed to appeal to homeowners seeking a reliable and all-inclusive service provider. They position themselves as a company with the resources of a national giant but with the local, compassionate service of a neighborhood business. This duality is a key selling point. They also advertise transparent pricing, a satisfaction guarantee, and a "Complete Comfort Club" for maintenance. However, the provided negative reviews suggest a significant gap between these promises and the actual customer experience. The review about the failed permits and unresponsive management directly contradicts the company's stated commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. The claim of "transparent pricing" is also challenged by a review about being "charged thousands for simple services" without recourse. This suggests that while these are advertised as features, the reality may be different for some customers. It is worth noting that while they advertise services like plumbing, the only specific feedback provided pertains to HVAC, which is a major area of their business.
- Broad Service Coverage: They aim to be a single source for plumbing, HVAC, and electrical needs through their network of local brands.
- "One-Call, One-Company" Model: The company promotes the convenience of a single phone call for multiple home services.
- Acquisition of Local Companies: They expand by acquiring existing, local brands, which they argue combines local expertise with corporate resources.
- Customer-Focused Solutions: They claim to offer solutions that are centered on the customer's needs, with a focus on value and satisfaction.
- Transparent Pricing: They state that their pricing is fair and transparent with no hidden fees, though customer reviews suggest a different experience.
For inquiries or to schedule a service, you can contact Southern Home Services at their corporate phone number: (407) 519-3265. Their address is 1060 Maitland Center Commons Blvd, Suite 250, Maitland, FL 32751, USA. It is important to note that this is a corporate office and not a service location. When contacting them, it would be prudent to ask which specific local company or brand will be performing the work, and to confirm that all necessary permits will be obtained and inspected for your project. This due diligence can help mitigate some of the issues that have been reported by other customers. Given the nature of the negative feedback, it is critical for any potential customer to ask specific questions about the work, the timeline, and the cost upfront, and to get all agreements in writing.
Based on the provided information, choosing Southern Home Services means engaging with a large corporate entity that operates through a network of smaller, acquired companies. The appeal of a single, comprehensive provider for multiple home services is a strong one, but the real-world experiences of some customers suggest a significant potential for problems with communication, accountability, and quality of work. The detailed review of a botched HVAC installation, failed permits, and subsequent lack of responsiveness from management is a serious red flag. For Florida residents, who rely heavily on these services, the risk of a project going wrong with little to no recourse is a major concern. While some customers may have positive experiences, the severe issues reported in the available reviews—including alleged overcharging and a lack of follow-up on safety concerns—should be a cause for caution. For those considering this company, it is worth choosing if you are willing to perform extra due diligence, document every step, and stay vigilant throughout the process. For those seeking the kind of personal, honest, and reliable service often associated with a truly local plumber or home service provider, it may be beneficial to explore other options with more consistently positive and recent reviews.

Southern Home Services Reviews
Buys up local companies and then goes around charging people thousands for simple services, then makes it impossible to contact them for any recourse. For anyone reading this I recommend filing a BBB claim, then going to small claims court.
Aug 12, 2025 · Daniel BalintFailed permitsI have had MAJOR problems with this company. They started out strong. They replaced my unit and my ductwork which seem to be going smoothly. They helped me out at the beginning. The first unit was put in 02/2024 also the ductwork was put in new. It stopped working after 5 months. THEY SENT 8 MEN IN HERE TO FIX THE PROBLEM.. to making up excuses of why it wasn't working, to adding freon twice in a week to a brand new unit. Worst after 8 visits, one of the sides was glued shut so they couldn't even look at the coil. The last tech , took off the side, after getting it unglued. There was about 4 inches of ice on top of the gold coils. Wow! These are trained HVAC technicians? Licensed??? Only one, that realized it was glued shut, after 8 visits? I probably have 30 pictures since the day they put the first unit in Scarey. How pathetic??. Only thorough technician, I asked to call the Lennox Rep to follow up on what the problem was. After going over the unit completely, with the LENNOX REPRESENTATIVE ROB , some readings were off, ends up the incorrect duct sizing was placed which caused some kind of backflow. I went two weeks without no air and then they brought in some portable units which helps somewhat. After 3 weeks of this the unit was fried. They came and put a second unit in 07/29/24 never checking the duct size or replacing it. THE COUNTY IS INVOLVED AND PERMIT FAILED TWICE!! NOW THERE ARE NOT RETURNING PHONE CALLS OR TRYING TO GET THIS RESOLVED. So I hope people review the companies! Reputable companies do HVAC would want to make sure their homeowners are SAFE, along with their property. SAFETY IN ELDERLY AND DISABLED SHOULD BE NUMBER ONE. While placing second unit which was shorter, they damaged the tin piece over top of the ducts. Steve Grossman had his electrician, measure it. I went and purchased one from Daleys Aluminum a company they work with frequently is still sitting down there with Mike. My neighbor has let them in twice since My entire place as cameras in and out since robbed Any visitors I have are recorded. I can see in watch them walk by look at it it says loudly again you are being recorded. There are other issues that are not as large but need to be rectified and fixed. They DO NOT CARE NOW OWNED BY SOUTHERN HOME SERVICES. The City sent the inspector out, and it failed twice. They never tried to RESOLVE. SAFETY should be #1 also it's criminal . So they sent Steve Grossman the new manager of Fast of Florida under the Southern Home Services that acquired them.. he brought his own electrician like he was going to follow up on my issues. this is prior literally prior to the feeling of the two permits. Electrician check the box and everything was okay he told me that he would fix all the problems even was going to compensate me because my electric bills sine been double the normal since the second unit was put in a s all of the problems this is caused me. the ductwork apparently. Never corrected, when a new unit was placed. So Steve you acted like you were going to do something for the customer and guess what he stopped responding real professional. 2 weeks later is when the inspector went in and failed it came back a month later and failed it again. Duct work was never replaced on the second unit. Steve Grossman even offerme compensation. They have blocked.. they have not returned any calls to myself nor the inspector NEXT WEEK It will be escalated. NOT ONLY FOR SAFETY REASONS AGAIN IT'S CRIMINAL. Never use this company! A good company should not need a technicians and never find the problem. The last technician was the only one that followed through and actually contacted the Lennox representative. They added freon to a new LENNOX unit twice In 2 weeks, which both HVAC companies that came out said I should have contacted Lennox Also it was in July. The hottest time of the year. Being an elder and disabled this was more problems than I could ever imagine. So just for the record that inspection fell twice and they didn't want to follow up I left nu
May 01, 2025 · JaneeI purchased a split heat pump from one of their companies, Pro- Tech last year and with a clear expectation that it would save our household energy. And it has actually increased the kWhs. I filed a complaint withe the BBB and they haven't responded.Very disappointed with their performance!
May 14, 2024 · Rex KuntzUSHAC- United States Heating & Air Conditioning, is a Southern HVAC Contractor12/22/20 - Chris S, salesperson from USHAC comes to give us a quote for replacement of 3 AC systems and a hot water heater. Chris insisted we should hire USHAC because of their quality of service and so we agreed on a price (which was a LARGE sum of money) and for work to begin the next day.12/23/20 - Employees installed incorrect air filters, incorrect thermostat, and a 3 ton unit where a 2 ton unit was supposed to be installed. When we noticed the major error about the completely incorrect unit being installed the employees said it was a free upgrade, and then began asking each other if the wrong unit was installed. After they left, we looked around and noticed several other errors with the install, including sloppy workmanship, issues with things not being to code, and in addition they left windows and gates open in our home.Their customer satisfaction guarantee states: “If Customer is not satisfied at any time during the twelve (12) months following the date the services are completed by Company, Company will promptly address and perform to Customer’s satisfaction those issues regarding work performed by Company, or refund the service fee actually paid by Customer or remove the installed equipment and issue a refund of the purchase amount.”Upon determining that the service provided did not meet our expectations, especially for such a large purchase, we called Chris that night and requested that the equipment be removed and that we would be looking for a different company to work with.USHAC representative Chris (salesperson) was uninterested in accountability for the multitude of issues and instead called it a miscommunication, blaming a Spanish speaking employee for installing the wrong unit. There were between 6-8 employees at our home for about 13 hours, it was not the fault of one singular employee, and it seems discriminatory to use the Spanish speaking installer as a scapegoat. All we have asked was that they fulfill their own contract and service agreement, and remove the equipment so that we could move on. The manager at the office, Ben, told us they would either charge us $1,700 to remove the equipment (even though most of it was incorrectly installed) or they would do it for free if we signed a non-disclosure agreement. An attorney advised us not to sign a NDA, as it seemed shady, potentially violates federal antitrust laws, and that the company is obligated to remove the equipment based on their own terms and conditions. Attorney also advised us to contact Todd Ulrich with Channel 9, and file a complaint with the Florida Attorney General, neither of which we have done, in hopes that the company would do the right thing. We asked USHAC to demonstrate some integrity and honor their contract; however, over the last THREE WEEKS we have repeatedly contacted USHAC, and when Ben actually decides to answer his phone (he is not available 90% of the time that we call), we were told they were checking with their attorneys and corporate office, instead of just doing the right thing.1/14/21 - At this point we have been requesting for over 3 weeks for them to remove their equipment, but they have refused. As of today we were told that their GM’s preferred method of resolution would be to leave the equipment and place a lien on our home. How many honest people have been taken advantage of, or coerced into silence via a NDA?
Jan 15, 2021 · Brandon WilliamsWe would like to thank Ben and the worker he sent out Damian for the excellent service and understanding to rectify an issue that arose on Sunday from a previous worker. They did such a great job we cannot thank them enough and are considering reaching back out to get a new AC unit from them. Thank you once again!!! Truly remarkable customer service.
