Grayson is very knowledgeable and in addition, a nice man. He was very helpful with my heat pumps and I am glad he is my technician. I have the service contract and it is worth every penny. Thank you for your help.I just had Jarryn Dickenson service my AC units. He was very thorough and checked both units. As I was expecting, he found issues with my upstairs unit. Unfortunately, due to the age of the unit, it was not reasonable to repair it. I had thought I would have to replace it last year but it staggered through the winter and spring. Now is the time to get it done, before the scalding hot summer gets here. Jarryn went through the book and showed my options, warranties and pricing. I picked a unit that will give me a 50% saving on my energy costs and a great warranty. The installation crew will be here Friday morning. Thank you Jarryn for the expert advice and thank you Southern Air for the prompt installation appointment.Southern Air came early today. I believe they were here before nine. Mike and Cameron came in two trucks and had everything going quickly. They are both pleasant and work hard to complete the job. I don’t they even took a break except when planning. Unfortunately, this Trane unit had some technology that was new to them and the air handler couldn’t communicate with the unit. I didn’t ask if it was the thermostat or what. I have a fancy thermostat that I can set with my phone and program exactly as I want, if it works! Unfortunately, I am waiting for a board to arrive that will facilitate the parts talking to each other. I’m told the nearest part is in Dallas and it will be Monday before it arrives and can be installed. That means no air conditioning upstairs where my bedroom is! On the bright side, I have air conditioning downstairs from the other unit.Today, Wednesday, my logic board, or whatever it’s real name is, came from the warehouse. Apparently, everyone in Dallas took off for the (long) Memorial Day weekend. The board wasn’t shipped until Tuesday. They kind of left my people hanging out to dry. Local Southern Air kept me updated all weekend but there wasn’t much they could do without supplies!Collin Franks came today. He brought the board and jumped right in. Apparently, in my great enthusiasm to have a super efficient AC/Heat Pump, I got cutting edge technology. No one has worked on this type of unit before. Collin finally admitted defeat and called in a couple of lifelines, unfortunately, it is new to them, too. I believe he said this unit uses propane as the refrigerant instead of the freon replacements I am used to. It’s pretty cool and I am going to watch closely to see if there is a noticeable improvement in cooling and efficiency. Also I hope for improvements in energy consumption and a smaller light bill! I give Collin credit for giving his best shot.Tomorrow, Jarryn will be back. He’s the man that can make it all work. I’m anticipating great things. And just think, I’m helping Southern Air train their technicians on new technology!I don’t know where Southern Air is getting their people, but they are all nice people and great to work with.Jarryn was back today. We found out that I have the wrong air handler, sent by Trane. It will have to be replaced. It is ordered from Dallas. The smart board was either defective or the wrong board. Jarryn is coming back Monday. I think we know what our problem is, so now we can fix it.Thanks Southern Air technicians Jarryn, Collin, Mike and Cameron and thank you Judy.Mike came back Monday and replaced the air handler. One of the boards needs replacing and will come in overnight.Jarryn came Tuesday with the new board. It connected well but has some error messages that he can’t correct. He is going to get a technician to come from Shreveport to help him tomorrow.Jarryn and the technician from Shreveport came today. I’m sorry, but I forgot his name. They worked half the day, cleared the board and replaced the wire communicating with the thermostat. Everything seems to be working now.I have it set on 75 and it is holding.Thank you.

I want Southern Heating and Air to know I had a great experience with your tech Mr. Collin. Mr. Collin was very knowledgeable of the situation with my a/c unit. He took the time to show me exactly what the problem was, and what I need to do so that it doesn't happen again. Once Mr. Collin was doing fixing the unit, he convinced me to become a member for $14.95 a month. Yes, now I'm a member, because of the good customer service that was given by Mr. Collin.
