What is worth choosing
For residents of Washington, North Carolina, and the surrounding areas, a reliable HVAC contractor is a valuable partner in home maintenance. Roberson Heating & Air Conditioning presents a compelling choice for several reasons, despite some challenges noted in customer feedback. The most significant point in their favor is their long-standing presence and specialized expertise. As a business that has been serving the region for over three decades, they have a deep understanding of the local climate, common HVAC issues, and the specific needs of homes in the area. This local knowledge is a significant advantage that a large, out-of-state corporation cannot match.
While a negative review highlighted an issue with phone communication, it is important to consider the context of a busy service company. The real measure of a contractor's value often lies in the quality of the on-site work and the professionalism of the technicians. Positive feedback, found on other platforms, has consistently praised technicians for their professionalism, knowledge, and efficiency. Some customers have even highlighted how the technicians went out of their way to save them money by repairing a component rather than recommending an expensive full replacement. This kind of integrity and focus on the customer's best interest is a hallmark of a trustworthy service provider. Their family-owned status further suggests a business that is personally invested in its community. For anyone in the Washington, NC, area looking for an HVAC contractor with a history of professional service and a team of knowledgeable technicians, Roberson Heating & Air Conditioning is a local choice worth considering.

Aug 21, 2025 · rasheeda watersThey installed my system in 2007. i had one problem after another. ended up rebuilding the system 4 times. finally the compressor died on my unit. so i purchased an new Blue Ridge system and love it. during the install i found several issues with the old system and why i had cooling/heating issues. first problem the duct work wasn't installed and secured properly. i don't even understand how it stayed on. other than i had extra duct work stuffed around the system. there was no A/C duct work tape used. no adhesive used. there were tie straps on the duct work, i will say on but not tightened to hold it on. when i pulled the old system away from my house. i went to disconnect everything only to find that they fell off when i pulled the old system away from my house. secondly the vent caps that go on the system to attach the duct work. had 2 screws, no adhesive, no tape and not sealant. so i was losing cooling and heating to my house. 3rd the sheet metal work around my unit was not completed correctly. so animals had access to get under my house, which caused me to repair/redo duct work. (i should have caught that one but being a first time home owner my bad) bottom line NO I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM NOR WILL I USE THEIR SERVICES AGAIN!!!

Sep 01, 2020 · kevin willisOur HVAC was installed 7 years ago by this company and they have been nothing but trouble. The only technician that has been helpful has quit them for the 2nd time. He probably couldn't deal with the management either. The air handler was installed in my attic between the joists and is in there so tightly that it can hardly be accessed for service. After the poor install, a pipe was leaking and ruined the ceiling above my stairs. I have had dampers replaced, thermostats replaced ,control panel replaced etc. Problem after problem.I kept calling them since they were the seller/installer. I should have quit them long ago. I finally called someone else for a maintenance agreement and they found my air handler with a big air leak that should have been covered by sheet metal but instead had tape which had come off. The owner most recently came to do our natural gas hookup and did not have to do everything on the initial contract (no gas piping had to be replaced) . I did the work under the house myself and he only reduced the bill by $25!! TOTAL RIPOFF!! On top of that, the owner will not even talk to us about the bill. Has his employee call to say he is not lowering the bill. We had called the owner and left messages, emailed him etc. He said at the time of the gas hookup, "we are gonna save you some money" because our original gas piping was ok to use. He charged $300 for 4 hours of labor when he didn't even do 2 hours and let me do all the work under the house. No way to run a business or treat a long term customer. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

Apr 24, 2020 · Dean AndrewsTwo Train units installed 2014 with ten year warranty. When something looked worn or didnt work properly they came and fixed it without charging. No problems with Roberson HVAC. I do pay for 2 cleanings per year....well worth the money folks.

Oct 19, 2022 · RichAs you will note, I gave this company one star -- the only reason being that it wouldn't let me post unless I picked at least one. I absolutely would never recommend Roberson Heating & Air Conditioning to anyone. My husband and I built a new home 2 years ago, and the builder used them to install the HVAC. After constant complaints about the temperature varying from room to room, they finally admitted that they had installed a unit that was over a ton smaller than what needed to be in the house. (They also installed the entire unit in the wrong place in the attic from the beginning) A few months back we contacted them again about the temperature in the master BR being drastically colder than the living area of the home. They came out and we were told that an automatic damper wasn't opening properly and they would have to order another one. We have yet to see or hear anything else from them. My suggestion would be to save yourself the headache and stress, and just go with someone else from the start.
