★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I finally cancelled my membership today. I've used HSA home warranty's premium coverage for over a decade. When I originally signed up it was $400/yr for coverage. It's now over $1400/yr for coverage. It costs $75 for each service request. It always takes weeks to months to get anything fixed and in the event something is "covered" if it needs to be "updated" to be "brought up to code", you're on the hook for that, which will certainly be hundreds of dollars. I recently had 2 service requests back to back. I had an issue with plumbing in my bathroom and a couple weeks later my hot water tank ruptured. My bathroom leaks have yet to be repaired. I have had no hot water for over a week and a half and there's no tracking information to see where my new water heater is. I've been stuck in limbo for over a month with my plumbing issues. The sad thing is this is one of the lesser painful experiences I've had recently. It took 4 months to get my dishwasher repaired and over a month to get my oven repaired.Most people recognize that you're losing money with warranty/insurance, but a quick repair with little to no out of pocket costs will kind of justify that monthly service fee. This is expensive, neither quick nor convenient, and you'll always end up wishing you just did the job yourself or paid someone you trust to do it.Note: If you managed to get tangled up in this company, know that cancellation is a nightmare. You can only cancel via phone, and they will go to any extent to try to get you to renew. They will offer discounts. They will give you a 100% free service. They will threaten you that you won't be able to get coverage in the future. They will remind you that you won't be covered and make you feel like you'll be spending millions of dollars in repairs. Keep your head up and insist on cancellation until they process it.

Including replacing our washer and dryer and our AC unit at our old house.But recently our AC stopped working. The first HSA contractor told us our entire furnace unit needed to be replaced due to age, (without anyone even looking at it in person). He submitted that info to HSA and they approved it for a $6800 new furnace, (with me paying $4800 out of pocket).I wanted a second opinion on that so I called a different contractor. They came out and said it just needed a new main blower motor. They replaced that for $1600 the next day. No problem with that.We called HSA back with the new information and they told me they were only going to cover $410 of the $1600 bill, "because that's what their repair cost estimate book says it should cost." I tried to explain that they were going to replace the whole unit for $6800, but I took it on myself to find a contractor who would fix it and save us all money. They didn't care and basically told me that didn't matter.Because of that, we decided to cancel today. Their price has gone up and their coverage has gone down. They kept my wife on the phone for 30 minutes trying to convince her to not cancel. Very frustrating experience all around

On two different occasions I have contacted them for a service request that they have been unable to assist with. I explained to them that it was near 100 degrees outside and my AC was not working. After 5 days I had to call and get my own tech to come out and pay for it. They refused to reimburse me and now here we are again today and history repeats itself. If I could give this company a negative I would. Customer service sucks too.
Aug 28, 2025 · Kobe SeayConstant loopholes, so they don't have to cover any of your warranty items. They couldn't even find a second opinion for our air conditioning unit. Sent out a contractor to install a dishwasher and they never came back to install it. And then when I called they said, oh, there's no one in your area that can install it. But they took my hundred dollar deposit non refundable even though they didn't finish the service. Then they tried to collect another hundred dollars for the second contractor that they couldn't find, and didn't want to refund that either. Asked to speak to their customer satisfaction? And I was told, we're not worried about your satisfaction. We don't even have that department. Don't waste your time or money on this company!!

Called for service on refrigerator, which was assigned to a service company (service company is not the problem). Appointment was confirmed by email. HSA Home Warranty canceled the appointment and said the service company could not verify/call (they had the wrong number, which was provided by HSA). Still waiting for service. After a number of hours on the phone with no resolution l gave up. HSA refused to refund the service fee. This company takes your money for no service. I would NEVER recommend this company for anything and one star is too many, if I could give them a negative number I would.
