We were having some air conditioning issues and they were here the next day to fix it. This was the second time Lenton Knowles has serviced our system. He was prompt, knowledgeable, and very professional. He clearly explained what he did and answered all our questions. We couldn’t be more pleased with him and Energy Systems.

A few days ago, our AC completely stopped working, so we called them back out.The technician looked at the system and told us it just needed to be reset — nothing more — and then charged us $150 for that. No diagnostics, no real inspection. Just a reset.Because our HVAC unit is still under warranty, I called another company for a second opinion — and thank God I did. They immediately found a Freon leak that Energy Systems completely missed. If I hadn’t trusted my gut and gotten someone else involved, we’d still be sitting in a hot house with no idea what was actually wrong.When I called Energy Systems to express my concern, the woman on the phone was rude, dismissive, and hung up on me multiple times. She now refuses to speak to me or acknowledge that her technician completely failed to diagnose a basic issue. Her excuse? “Another company came out, so it’s not our problem.”But here’s the thing — what if I hadn’t gotten another company out? I would’ve been stuck in Florida summer heat with no AC and no answers. And still charged $150 for nothing.This company was unprofessional, careless, and completely unwilling to take responsibility. I would never recommend Energy Systems of Pensacola to anyone — not for repairs, not for diagnostics, and definitely not for customer service.********UPDATE IN RESPONSE******DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY — YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.This update is to make it absolutely clear: your response to my original review was nothing short of pathetic. Deflecting blame, twisting facts, and flat-out refusing to take responsibility — textbook gaslighting. Your technician missed a blatantly obvious leak that any competent HVAC tech should have caught in five minutes. Another company found it IMMEDIATELY. That’s not a “communication error,” that’s gross negligence and complete incompetence.You charged me $150 for a useless reset that solved absolutely NOTHING. When I followed up for answers, I was treated like trash. I was talked down to, dismissed, and hung up on. One of your employees had the audacity to tell me to “stop yelling” instead of actually addressing the issue — that’s not customer service, that’s manipulative gaslighting and straight-up disrespect.Don’t throw your “40 years of service” in my face like that makes this okay. Experience means nothing if your current staff is clueless, careless, and rude. Your team failed me when I needed you most. Due to the age of the unit (less than 2 years old), it was covered by warranty and they have repaired it, including adding an additional 5 lbs of refrigerant (another $500) which may not have been lost if Energy Systems had bothered to have someone, anyone, from their Service Department call us back to set up a service call.original review:Don’t waste your energy with Energy Systems in Pensacola!!$850 service call and the issue may not have been fixed!We are incredibly disappointed with the customer service at Energy Systems. We found it challenging to get prompt and accurate assistance or a response from the service department, including the manager as well as the owner. You should consider another company for your heating and air conditioning needs.Energy systems installed our Bryant unit less than 2 years ago. They have performed the semi annual maintenance program for that unit as well as a mini split which was not installed by them. On April 30th I noticed that the Bryant unit wasn’t cooling the house. It was late afternoon, after regular business hours, but we were willing to pay the emergency service fee because my husband has a spinal cord injury and we need to have air conditioning. The technician arrived and found that the unit needed 3 lbs of refrigerant at $150/pound. He found what he said was a very small leak in the threaded connection at the condenser and said it needed a more extensive leak check, but suggested we do that during normal business hours when the hourly rate would be less. Since we paid for the hour, we asked him to use the sniffer and make sure the unit was not leaking refrigerant inside the house which he did and didn’t find anything. We paid the $850 and we were told the office would contact us to schedule a service call. By coincidence our mini split had some issues that night, so we called the office the next day to have them look at it and (we thought) to do a more extensive leak check on the main unit. We asked to speak with the service manager but she wasn’t available so we left a message for her to call. When the technician arrived (it was the same technician from the previous visit), he said he was only there to check the mini split unit and was surprised that no one had contacted us concerning the Bryant unit. He said he spoke with the service department about it. We tried calling the service manager again, but were told she had left for the day and that the owner was out of town. As it turns out, the technician had to call his office and ask if Energy Systems did the install of the mini split unit. That very same service manager, which we were told was gone for the day, had to look up that information for him. The technician said that unit needed some refrigerant, but he was unsure what brand/model the unit was and we told him we would contact the company that installed it and have them take care of it. We paid for him to clean the drain line. All this money and we still aren’t sure the Bryant is operating properly! We have since left numerous messages for the service manager to call but have heard nothing. My husband called them every single day for two weeks and left messages. The only thing we were told was that the service manager, Niecy, was out sick/in a meeting/unavailable. We asked for the owner, Randy, again but was told he was in a meeting. I guess the service department was left to fend for themselves with the manager out sick. The way this situation was handled makes it obvious that they do not care about their customers. We have since called and said we no longer want to continue with the semi annual service maintenance program for the units. By the way, all of the other times they were here to perform them no issues were found. The last maintenance check was done in December, we hadn’t been contacted to perform the spring maintenance check.
May 28, 2025 · Jan O'DonnellI highly recommend Energy Systems. They installed our new systems during a renovation 2 1/2 years ago and did an excellent job. Most recently, Ron came out to take a look at one of our systems and quickly diagnosed and replaced a faulty switch. He was proficient, courteous, and professional and took the time to answer questions and walk us through things. We will definitely continue to do business with them as they are responsive and trustworthy.
