DSE Heating & Air Conditioning Introduce
For homeowners across Ohio, especially in the Jamestown region, the reliable function of an HVAC system is critical for maintaining comfort during intense summer heat and severe winter cold. When heating or cooling units fail, local residents seek a reliable and competent air conditioning contractor to diagnose and fix the issues quickly and effectively. DSE Heating & Air Conditioning is one such local company, operating as an air conditioning contractor that offers essential repair services to the Jamestown community.
The process of selecting a contractor is often complicated by the technical nature of HVAC work and the urgency of a breakdown. When service is contracted through a home warranty company, the homeowner's direct control over the selection process is limited, making the contractor’s professionalism and expertise paramount. This article aims to provide a factual, if mixed, overview of DSE Heating & Air Conditioning based on its public profile and available customer feedback, allowing Ohio users to approach this potential partnership with a full understanding of the information available.
Dealing with HVAC issues can become costly and time-consuming, particularly if the initial diagnosis or repair work is incomplete or incorrect. Therefore, local users in Ohio should prioritize transparency, technical proficiency, and a dedication to thorough, complete work when evaluating any service provider, including DSE Heating & Air Conditioning, for their home’s heating and air conditioning needs.
Location and Accessibility
DSE Heating & Air Conditioning is locally situated in Jamestown, Ohio. This location in Greene County is central to the community they serve, suggesting a contractor who is geographically positioned to offer local residents quick response times, which are essential for emergency HVAC breakdowns.
The publicly listed address for DSE Heating & Air Conditioning is:
56 S Limestone St, Jamestown, OH 45335, USA
Being located right on South Limestone Street places the business within easy reach of the local network of roads serving Jamestown and the surrounding parts of Ohio. For local users, a nearby contractor can often mean a faster turnaround on scheduling appointments and technician visits, which is a major convenience during times of unexpected system failure.
Services Offered
DSE Heating & Air Conditioning is categorized primarily as an Air Conditioning Contractor. Their core business revolves around ensuring the performance and longevity of residential heating and air conditioning systems. The fundamental services they are known to provide include repair services and general offerings related to HVAC systems.
Based on the available information, the key areas of service offered include:
- Repair Services: A focus on diagnosing and fixing existing faults in air conditioning and heating units. This is a crucial service for homeowners facing unexpected system failures.
- System Installation and Replacement: Public records indicate the business is involved in the installation and replacement of residential heating and air conditioning units, such as outside and inside furnace units.
- System Cleaning and Maintenance: Services that include cleaning components of the HVAC system, such as inside furnace units, which are necessary for energy efficiency and optimal performance.
- Home Warranty Contract Work: A significant portion of their business comes from being contracted by home warranty companies to service covered claims for local homeowners.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: The process of identifying the cause of an HVAC failure, which may involve checking the core units, refrigerant levels, electrical components, and the thermostat.
These offerings represent the foundational needs of any Ohio homeowner for managing their interior climate. The ability to correctly and efficiently execute all phases of this work, from initial diagnosis to final repair or replacement, is what defines a quality HVAC contractor.
Features and Highlights
A professional overview must include both the functional features of the business and the realities of its service, as reported by the customer base. DSE Heating & Air Conditioning operates as a local, focused HVAC repair and installation company in Jamestown.
Their functional features include:
- Local Presence in Jamestown, OH: Their fixed address in the town center is a definitive highlight for local users seeking a physically present contractor, which can be an advantage for immediate community service.
- Home Warranty Network Participation: Being a contracted provider for home warranty companies indicates they meet baseline requirements for inclusion in a national service network, providing a channel for service for warranty holders in the region.
- Residential Focus: The nature of the services, including furnace and AC replacement and cleaning, suggests a specialization in residential home comfort systems, which is the direct need of local Ohio homeowners.
However, potential customers must seriously consider the publicly available, detailed customer feedback, which raises significant concerns about the quality of service. Reviews highlight a repeated pattern of **incomplete, multi-visit repairs** (taking two months to 'fix' a single AC issue), **inconsistent service findings** (stating an indoor unit needed replacement shortly after being paid to clean it), and a **failure to correctly diagnose fundamental issues** (missing severely damaged ductwork that was 'basically heating the attic'). Most critically, the failure to diagnose the ductwork issue during the warranty period meant a customer was later forced to pay $3,700 out-of-pocket for a problem that should have been covered, immediately following the warranty expiration. The reviews also stress a major issue with **unresponsiveness**, with calls and messages going unanswered for weeks after a paid service call. These factors indicate a potential risk regarding service quality, thoroughness of work, and post-service accountability.
Contact Information
For residents in the Jamestown, OH area looking to reach DSE Heating & Air Conditioning, the primary public contact information is the physical location.
- Address: 56 S Limestone St, Jamestown, OH 45335, USA
While the physical address is available, specific, reliably public contact numbers or email addresses were not provided in the basic data. Furthermore, potential customers should be aware that customer feedback reports chronic issues with call responsiveness, with some users stating their calls went unreturned for weeks after paying a service charge. Prospective clients should plan for this potential communication challenge when seeking service or follow-up.
What Is Worth Choosing
For any Ohio homeowner, choosing an HVAC contractor is an investment in home safety, comfort, and energy efficiency. A contractor's technical competency and commitment to complete, ethical service are what make them "worth choosing." DSE Heating & Air Conditioning is locally available and offers essential air conditioning and heating repair services, which provides a convenient starting point for Jamestown residents, particularly those utilizing a home warranty.
However, the critical and detailed customer reviews should serve as a major point of consideration. The pattern of protracted service attempts, the failure to diagnose a foundational issue like severely damaged ductwork (resulting in a massive, uncovered out-of-pocket expense for the customer), and the poor post-service communication all represent significant risks. A worthy contractor is one who performs comprehensive diagnostics, completes the job correctly the first time, and maintains professional communication. The reported failure to identify a problem as severe as "heating the attic" during multiple visits, a situation that another company immediately identified, is a serious deficiency.
Ultimately, while DSE Heating & Air Conditioning is a local option, Ohio users are strongly advised to weigh the convenience of their location against the substantial reported risks of costly, incomplete, or delayed work, and poor customer service. It is always worth choosing a contractor with a strong, verifiable history of successful, thorough repairs and professional accountability to protect both your home’s essential systems and your financial investment. Due diligence and comparing quotes from highly-rated, local alternatives is strongly recommended.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1DSE was out to my location in June of 2019 due to my home warranty company contracting them out. They came out and said my outside furnace needed replaced and my inside furnace needed cleaned. after 3 weeks, they finally come out and do the work. 1 week goes by and my air was still not working. Called the home warranty place and they sent DSE back out. They then stated that my inside unit needed replaced. After I just paid them to clean it. 2 weeks go by and they come out and replace my inside unit. 1 week goes by again and my ac is still not working. After 2 months, in August of 2019, my AC they said is fixed. Well in September of 2019 I turned the system off because the weather allowed me to use my windows. In November of 2019 I turn my heat on. In December of 2019 I get a DP&L bill of over 500 dollars. I call my home warranty place, but unfortunately my warranty expired in November. So they said I needed to call DSE to have them look at it. I called DSE in January and they came out to look at the unit. They said it had something to do with my thermostat, which I had just got less than 2 weeks before that. I told them I didn't believe anything was wrong with that because the bill was before that. They said to call my thermostat company and then get back with them. I paid DSE 89 dollars for the service charge and they left. Well I spent the next 3 weeks calling DSE and leaving messages with no replies or answers. I decided to have another company come out and take a look. This company stated that my duct work needed replaced. The duct work was so bad I was basically heating my attic. The company stated that this isn't something that just happened, this had to have been the same since June when DSE originally came out. If DSE would have done their job and fully inspected the unit, they would have noticed this back in JUNE and this would have been covered under my home warranty. Now I am having to come out of pocket 3700 dollars for new duct work. On top of that they wont even respond to my calls.

Jan 28, 2020 · Kayla HullMy warranty company contracted DSE to inspect our furnace, who determined it needed replaced.I have to say, I was unsure we were going to get any level of customer service that I would expect if I had hired someone of my own volition based solely on the Google reviews. I was SO BLOWN AWAY!The first technician was prompt, polite and incredibly professional. He didn’t give us news we wanted to hear, but we understood. He cared about our safety and made that evident, disabling our unit.He told us what time frames to expect for the next steps and even that exceeded his estimate. And Debbie!!! Total rockstar!!! She cares so much and when I ended up having a HORRIBLE experience with my warranty company she really went to bat for me, helped to guide me through how to overcome that issue, and when my warranty company failed us, she and DSE pulled through, getting our new furnace installed the next day.The install guys were also prompt, arriving as Debbie promised, were quick and efficient and HOLY COW WE HAVE HEAT!!So, screw the reviews other than this one. DSE is a great company and when you’re not an A $ & hole customer, these guys are going to give you great service at a great price. Thanks Debbie!!!

Oct 31, 2020 · Amanda HardenThis place is ridiculous. Our furnace was making all kinds of noice. Called our home warranty place, they sent out DSE Mechanical. Came out to look at our furnace, told us what was wrong. Said they would be back with the parts to fix it. One week goes by, nothing. Two weeks, still nothing. Called DSE numerous times, only got a voicemail. Left numerous messages, never got any calls back. A month goes by, call our warranty place, and DSE told them they have fixed our furnace and never paid our service fee. Not only did we pay, but they never fixed the furnace. We had to have another HVAC company come out to fix what they didn't. I would rather freeze to death in the dead of winter than ever have any dealings with this company again.

Apr 29, 2019 · Sarah NelsonMy home warranty company used DSE mechanical to address a non functioning air conditioning unit. I wished I would have looked up their online reviews beforehand (Shame on me #1)I was given a time range from 10 - 2pm. 2pm comes around and no sign of anyone. I called and spoke to a woman. I was told that this happens and that they will now be arriving between 2-4pm. I explained that this was an inconvenience and that I was disappointed that no one had the courtesy to call me that the technician was running behind. Response: Well, if you don't like it, you can cancel the appointment. I felt I had no other choice at the time (I wish I would have listened to myself at that moment and said thank you have a nice day - Shame on me #2). The woman was rude, lacked empathy, was condescending, and made it seem like she was doing me a favor. This behavior is consistent w/ reviews from google and yelp. So, 354pm arrives and I call back again with an update. Just like before with the same tone as before, I was told that it was not 4pm yet as there was still 6 minutes remaining (Another chance for me to say see you later - Shame on me #3).Fast forward to 430pm, and the tech finally arrives. In order to keep the review professional, I will leave out some details. I will say that for many reasons the technician did very little to give me a sense of confidence in his ability and judgement (The final chance for me to say see you later - Shame on me #4). The technician looked at my AC unit and furnace (rather quickly at that) and told me that I needed a new AC unit because "critters took out fan, capacitor, and relay". He then left. So, the next day the home warranty company calls me back and says that they do not cover damage caused by pests and that I am on my own. I tried to explain to the home warranty company my concern with the assessment and that I would like a second opinion. I was told that this was the assessment and that there is nothing more that they can do for me.So as you can imagine, I called for a second opinion. The technician from the second company said that yes there were pests, but he has never seen them destroy an HVAC unit before. Rather than stopping there, the technician used his voltmeter and determined that while there was high voltage power to the unit there was NO low voltage power supply to the unit. Now, I am not an expert at a lot of things, especially Air Conditioning unit, but that being said one of the first things I do when I am dealing with something that I do not know a lot about is to make sure that it has power. As an HVAC specialist I would think it would be pretty obvious that some units need both low and high voltage power supply. So as you, the reader probably already know, the low voltage line from the furnace to the air conditioner was repaired and GUESS WHAT - it fixed all the damage from the critters and the whole unit started working again. UNBELIEVABLE!So, i then had to call the home warranty company and spend hours on the phone with them to pay for a problem that should have been diagnosed correctly in the first place. Now why was such an easy diagnosis missed? End of day, fatigue, lack of knowledge, incentive to diagnose with a non-coverable problem.....? Who knows. I did ask the tech who was able to fix this, how can someone fail to misdiagnose such an easy problem. His response was that sometimes it is easy for someone to sell you a new unit because it takes too much time to diagnose a FIXABLE problem.Moral of the story, do you your homework on who is coming to your home (even if it is a home warranty company because they can send someone else) and end the business relationship when there are warning signs.Should I need to use the home warranty company again, I have asked them to put DSE mechanical on my DO NOT USE list.

Jul 05, 2020 · Santosh KaleHow frustrating is it that almost two years to the day I’m having to replace a unit, line set and a coil because my home warranty company contracted you for a job that was only partially completed. Who replaces an outside unit and doesn’t replace the line set and a coil to match the unit? The coil and line was clearly not sufficient for the 410 unit placed outside. Now myself and family are suffering to cover a cost that was not anticipated on a unit that’s only two years old when it’s 90 degrees in our home. The unit is completely out of refrigerant due to a faulty coil and line set that are leaking. Richard and Sarah Wilson-hot frustrated unhappy customers
