Excellent service! I highly recommend Cote’s for installation, yearly service and inspection on existing units. Especially important when a buyer is looking to buy an existing home. As a previous Realtor and Home Warranty rep, I told buyers to have the HVAC units inspected by a licensed HVAC company during the inspection period. It served as a way to show a unit was in good working condition at the time of inspection for the future proof to a home warranty company and if there were any prior issues to the seller for negotiation of repair or replacement.I’m enjoying my new unit that Cotes installed and having it checked and serviced twice a year.Andy was my technician this time and I highly recommend him for the Montague County area.

In 2022, I hired Cote’s Mechanical to help resolve cooling issues in my home. The owner at the time, Cote Wyatt, told me that my A/C unit was a 4-ton system and too small for the house. Based on his recommendation, I paid $4,400 to install a ductless mini split on the second floor and re-zone my master bedroom.I recently discovered that my existing A/C unit is actually a 5-ton system, which is properly sized. The real cause of the cooling issues was a piston that was never replaced when the evaporator coil was installed—an oversight on their part.Because of this misdiagnosis, I now have a mini split system that was never necessary, is leaking freon, and negatively affects the appearance and resale value of my home. I reached out to Mr. Wyatt in good faith and gave him multiple chances to respond. He admitted via email that he owned the company until April 2025 but has not responded since July 2, despite a formal written request to resolve the issue.I am now having to pursue action through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.I would caution anyone considering this company. What happened to me was not just an expensive mistake—it was a clear failure to diagnose and correct a basic issue, which led to unnecessary cost and damage.
