A tech came out and tried fixing the issue but we ended up needing a full system replacement and they were able to get us a great deal on both an indoor and outdoor unit. Their pricing beat out a few other local companies that we got quotes from, beating some by $1000s. They understood being without air in Alabama during the month of June is not fun and got our replacements in just a couple of days. Golden and JT came out as early as they could the day of the replacement. They were very friendly and professional throughout the entire day. They uninstalled the old system and got the new system up and running in just a few hours.

They have never functioned properly—and we had to call them numerous times to correct faulty installation issues during the build. After only 6 months of using our units, we cannot use the A/C portion without it sounding like the ceiling is going to cave in. It sounds like a 30 year old window unit. Our mistake was using them after they installed a faulty new unit in another property which they never were able to fix. It’s nearly impossible to get anyone on the phone. We had to call for months before finally catching someone in the office. I sincerely wish we had used a different company.

We had another local HVAC contractor come out and fixed our temperature differentials on the first trip. I would NOT let Cathcart near a treehouse.

Jun 14, 2022 · Bryan HuntThis is the worst company that I have dealt with in every aspect. When I needed an air conditioner in 2011, I chose Lennox system that I read about online. Cathcart Service was listed on Lennox's website as a certified installer. Eric Cathcart came to my house in 2011, and I told him what I was looking and and what I wanted. When the installation was complete in May of 2011, I checked the furnace and the outside unit. First, the outside unit was not what I had waned, it's a heat pump as opposed to an air conditioner. I spoke with Eric, and he said that he gave me a really good deal, and that the heat pump was better than just having an air conditioner/furnace set-up. I looked online about the set-up, and I decided that the set-up would suffice. A month later, I had my home checked for energy efficiency. After going into the attic, the personnel doing the efficiency test showed me that the plenum had disconnected from the air handler. I called Catchart Service, and they came out and strapped it together. In November, I received my first error code on the digital thermostat (Code 411 which means low pressure). I called Cathcart Service, and someone came out to reset the codes and tell me that it was caused by the air filter. I paid $79 for the service. In the February 2012, I received that same error code, and during the spring I had to call Catchcart Service to reset the codes for the heat pump to cool the house. I paid $79 for the service. In November 2012, I got the same error code. I did not call anyone out until the Spring of 2013 so that Catchcart Service could send someone out to reset the codes for the heat pump to work properly. I paid $79 for the service. In October of 2013, I received the same error code. I called in the Spring of 2014 to reset the codes for the unit to work properly. I paid $170+ for a annual service. A few month's after I paid for that service, someone came out to do the second and final service for that year. In October, I received the same error code. This time, I had the same service person that worked on it earlier in the year to come out and look at it to see what was going on (it's not the air filter). He cleared the codes. A few days later when the heat turned on, I got the same error code. I continued working with the same personnel, and I am continuing to work with him to this day. The problem occurred day after day. The problem is still not addressed. Since the last visit by Cathcart Service personnel, I was scheduled to have the unit looked at and worked on by December 18th. No one showed up or called. I called December 26 to let them know that no one came out when they were supposed to. I was told that they were scheduled to come out on December 26. I asked what time? The service clerk told me that she would have the service person drop an appointment to come out. The service person called and said that he had to be in Cullman and that he would be here a little after noon. At noon, I get a call from the service person saying that he got caught up in Cullman, and that he would try to make it out here. I got a text at 1:30 p.m. from the service person asking me when I will be available next week for him to come out and do what he said that he was going to do two Thursdays ago. I am hoping he will show up on Wednesday. For the initial response to this year's error code, I was charged $79. I called Cathcart Service to ask for an opinion as to whether I should have to pay, and I was told that I was credited for this service call. I will update as necessary.Update: (10/22/15) I think that my problem was fixed, but not after I was sent a $400 bill for solution for the Heat Pump that wasn't covered under warranty. In all, the issue was happening in my Furnace as opposed to the Heat Pump, so I have to question weather any work done to the Heat Pump was actually necessary. I did get a discount on the final $400 bill, but I still think that I should not have paid a dime for the issue that was obviously problematic at time of initial instillation.
