Bannister Plumbing & Air Introduce
For residents of Jacksonville, Texas, and the greater East Texas region, a plumbing or HVAC emergency can be a major source of stress. When a pipe bursts, a drain clogs, or the air conditioner gives out during a scorching summer, finding a reliable and trustworthy service provider is the top priority. Bannister Plumbing & Air is a business that positions itself as a local solution for these critical home services. They are a well-known name in the area, offering a range of services that are essential for the comfort and safety of any home or business. However, like any business, a full picture requires an examination of both the positive and negative feedback from the community they serve.
This article provides a detailed, factual overview of Bannister Plumbing & Air, designed to give local Texans the information they need to make an informed decision. By presenting a balanced perspective based on available public data and real customer reviews, we can help you understand what to expect from their services. A business's reputation is often built on a combination of technical skill, professionalism, and pricing, and it is crucial to consider all these factors before entrusting a company with your home's vital systems. For homeowners in this area, where a functioning plumbing and HVAC system is non-negotiable, this type of information is invaluable.
Bannister Plumbing & Air is a family-owned and operated company founded by Brandon and Brandy Bannister in 2007. They have expanded their services from a residential focus to a full-service plumbing and HVAC company, serving both residential and commercial clients across East Texas, including Jacksonville and Tyler. They emphasize providing prompt, professional service with a "true Texas character," aiming to treat every customer like family. This ethos is a key part of their brand identity, and it's a quality that resonates with many in the local community.
Their business model is built around offering a wide range of services and providing a high level of customer care, including a "red carpet treatment" where technicians wear shoe covers and clean up after themselves. They also promote the use of "straightforward pricing," where the cost of a repair is known before the work begins, to avoid hidden fees. These are all positive attributes that a homeowner would look for in a service provider. However, a complete understanding of a business requires a look at all customer experiences, which can sometimes tell a different story.
The main office for Bannister Plumbing & Air is located at 4555 N Jackson St, Jacksonville, TX 75766, USA. This central location in Jacksonville allows them to be easily accessible to residents throughout the city and surrounding areas. For a service business, being local is a significant advantage as it can translate to faster response times, especially for emergency calls. They also have an office in Tyler, which further expands their reach across East Texas. This dual-location strategy enables them to serve a broader customer base, from rural homes to more suburban properties.
Being physically present in the community is a key aspect of their business, as it allows them to be a visible and active part of the local economy. Their fleet of fully stocked trucks, which they highlight as a feature, can be quickly dispatched from these locations to address a variety of plumbing and HVAC issues. The accessibility of a service provider is a major consideration for Texans, particularly during severe weather events or unexpected breakdowns where time is of the essence.

Customer feedback provides a look into the real-world performance of a company, and Bannister Plumbing & Air is no exception. Some reviews praise the company's professionalism and efficiency, while others raise significant concerns.
- Professionalism and Efficiency: A positive review highlights the "extremely-professional" demeanor of Ruben and his assistant, and praises their ability to resolve plumbing issues quickly. The customer also mentions that the service manager, Zack, went "above and beyond" to help with a collapsed city sewer line. This feedback points to a team that can be responsive and effective.
- Prompt Service and Good Repairs: A satisfied customer recommends Bannister Plumbing for their "prompt-service and good repairs," suggesting a positive experience during a "time of need." This indicates that for some, the company lives up to its promise of being a reliable resource.
- Warranty and Pricing Issues: A deeply negative review details a customer's frustration with a repair that failed shortly after the initial service. The customer was told the warranty did not cover freeze damage, despite a different plumber confirming that was not the issue. The review also alleges that the company's prices are "outrageous," providing a detailed list of what they were quoted, including a toilet installation cost that exceeded the price of the toilet itself.
- Customer Communication and After-hours Fees: The same negative review points to a breakdown in communication, with the company allegedly threatening an "after hours fee" despite the customer's explanation that the issue was a faulty repair, not a new problem. This suggests a potential lack of customer empathy and a rigid approach to pricing that may not sit well with all clients.
- Spamming and Trust: The unhappy customer also mentions being "spammed" with emails and texts about replacing perfectly working AC units, which casts a shadow on the company's sales tactics and honesty. This review concludes with a strong "DO NOT RECOMMEND" and a wish to give negative stars, indicating a complete loss of trust.

For locals in Jacksonville, Texas, and the surrounding areas, Bannister Plumbing & Air offers a range of essential plumbing and HVAC services. The decision to use this company, or any service provider, depends on your individual needs and the weight you place on different customer experiences. While some reviews highlight professional and prompt service, others raise serious concerns about pricing, warranty policies, and business practices. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Ruben from Banister Plumbing and his assistant were extremely-professional. They got our plumbing-issues resolved quickly. He was very informative and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction.Him and his Service-Manager Zack went above and beyond to reach-out about a collapsed city sewer-line and they were out fixing the line within 2-days of hydrojetting our line to the sewer pipe (so that they could give us the full-warranty).Banister Plumbing is the place to go if you want prompt-service and good repairs done during your time of need. We would definitely recommend them to all our friends and family.
Mar 14, 2025 · Anita TuckBack in November we paid $1600 to fix all the leaks from busted pipes that we had in our new house. After the repairs they did, they left a huge mess of insulation on the floor and they left the drywall on the side instead of putting it back. The insulation didn't get cleaned up, or the drywall put back until the second time they came out for a quote to get our ac ducts cleaned. Today we realized one of the areas they "fixed" was leaking. Called them and they said that under warranty, pipes that bust from a freeze aren't covered. That's totally fine I understand, but this pipe didn't have freeze damage (even had another plumber confirm). They said they could come out but if they find that it's from freeze damage, they'd charge their service fee plus an after hours fee for having to come out later today. Mind you they said that AFTER I'd already told them it's NOT freeze damaged (proof down below). Ended up having another plumber fix it for less than what Bannister would've charged in just an "after hours fee".In case whatever potential Bannister customers reading this don't believe me, the prices they gave us include:• $200-$350 PER copper pipe repair• $23,369 whole home water repipe (5,400 sqft house)• $6,374 for 3 new water heaters+recirculating pump, $9,500 if under 10 year warranty• $344 PER toilet installation (installation literally costs more than the toilet itself wtf)• $9,080 for 4 new ac units ($2,270 per)• $3,100-$6,516 for ac duct cleaningWould never use this company again they absolutely scammed us just because we have a nice house. They've also been spamming me with emails/texts about replacing our ac units that work perfectly fine. Their prices are just outrageous and they don't honor their customers. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! If I could give -⭐️'s I would lol
Feb 22, 2025 · Jocelyn TorresBannister Plumbing was called after our internet installation did not go as planned and a water line was cut. Jake came after hours and was extremely professional, kind, and explained everything he was doing. He was thoughtful enough to show me where the house water shut off valve was as well just in case I ever needed to know. We are new to the area and will be using Bannister for any of our plumbing and air needs that may arise.
Jul 25, 2025 · Jessica RichardsWe had a great experience with Bannister Plumbing and Air. They did a thorough job, cleaning the ducts, coil, fan blower and dry vent. Our home is 41 years old and probably never had this service. Mica Edwards was very respectful and provided us with detailed information. He removed the fan blower and showed us the before and after. He showed us the coil and the stuff he removed from it. Beware if you have pets, this truly matters. Before he and his partner left the home, they had cleaned up all the debris from the cleaning. We are very pleased with his work. Highly recommended.
Apr 30, 2025 · Lisa WhiteBannister Plumbing did a great job for us today. Called them on Monday but told them it was not an emergency so we scheduled for Wednesday to clean out a drain that was backing up. Matt was prompt (actually early) for his appt time. He was very polite and professional. He explained everything and gave us the cost upfront. He cleaned out the drain and then checked it with a camera. I won’t say it wasn’t expensive because it was, but so is everything now days. But he cleaned everything up when he was done and even came back because he remembered he had forgotten to move the washer back. I would totally recommend Bannister and Matt for plumbing needs.
