Watkins Heating & Cooling Reviews
Tony arrived right on time and promptly went to work on the semi-annual maintenance visit. We discussed a secondary issue with my system, and while that work didn't happen, I felt good about my decision, based upon detailed information he provided to enable me to make an informed decision.Watkins Technicians are knowledgeable, friendly, and I have always found to be honest when providing education on my HVAC system.
Jul 28, 2025 · Tim HallI have been with Watkins for 8 years, the one time my air conditioning stops, they tell me they can’t get to me until a week out. So I am supposed to wait a week with no air? I also have a service agreement with them. DONT EVER BUY IT! It’s honestly a scam what you pay for it and get nothing out of it. They don’t want to honor it and put you out a week because others will pay more. Needless to say, I contacted someone else, turns out I need a new air conditioner. I just gave a $3,500 job to someone else. I suggest calling one hour heating and cooling. They are way better than Watkins will ever be and more affordable. Maybe next time, Watkins won’t false advertise 24 hr service. Don’t believe their website, it is honestly a lie.
Jul 30, 2025 · John and Sandy PierceWould not recommend to my worst enemy. AVOID unless you have money to spend on damage that will come as a result of their push for a sale and lack of knowledge.I did a lot of research prior to updating our AC unit, I wanted to support a family owned company and one that had good reviews. I am believing now that negative reviews are being removed as the way we have been treated throughout this process has been incredibly discouraging and eye opening. We are dealing with mold in the ceiling, multiple experts coming out, and a replacement of our drywall. We called to inform them of all the issues we have been experiencing, were told they would send out a technician for free, then called back to tell us it’s $99 and tried to upsell us on a process to insulate our ducts. We have spent $17K on the AC and an additional $5K on hiring experts to assess the damage (Taking out dry wall, checking for leaks, replacing drywall). Watkins told us it’s likely not their fault but they will send someone out for more money. Then they asked why we hadn’t called prior, below is more to the growing story:We had out until installed in 2022, the unit options were twice the size of the others on the street and a 2 stage ,however, we were assured this was the correct option for our home. We had a problem immediately: the upstairs was 76 degrees while downstairs was a cold 68. On top of this issue the unit itself was squeaking while in use. They sent out an installer, who found a random screw, tightened it, then when it squeaked again, told us to hit it on the side a little when it makes the noise again. Then to fix the issue of it being warm upstairs we were told to buy motorized vent to pump more air upstairs.Immediately after we had wet ceiling, We called a plumber to check for leaks, a handman to help find the cause, and an HVAC expert who all mentioned issues with the AC. They had set the humidity point too high when installing, the unit was likely too large, the motorized vents make the air too cold, and Watkins didn’t check the insulation before installing. This has been 3 years of the same issue, we have taken the vents out, lowered the air temperature, bought a dehumidifier, and replaced ceilings. It was time to call Watkins to have them assess their work.We relayed the issues we had been having and they said they would send out someone to take a look and blamed the Handman and plumber for their comments. Then called back and told we would be charged because we waited 2 years. We only waited because we didn’t trust the company after they weren’t able to fix our issues the first time and made them worse. They don’t stick by their work and like to shift blame. We have been in this house for 35 years with no problems up until this point. I would run far from this company
Jun 25, 2025 · Samantha MyersBought brand new unit , spent 8k on it. Year later bunch of problems. Will never use them again. All they want is to sell you yearly maintanance subscription. What a rip off. Original ac unit worked for 27 years.
Aug 29, 2025 · No NameWatkins technicians are always on time and knowledgeable. I'm very happy with the company. Chris is so friendly and easy going. He gets the work done quickly and explains what he did. Thank you!
