TLC/Stewart Heat & Air Introduce
In North Carolina, a comfortable home environment is essential year-round, making a trustworthy and competent HVAC contractor a vital partner for any homeowner. However, not all contractors live up to the promise of reliable service. For residents in the Winston-Salem area who might be considering TLC/Stewart Heat & Air for their general contracting or HVAC needs, it is critical to be aware of public information and customer feedback that raises serious concerns about the company's past practices and reliability. This article is intended to provide a clear, factual overview based on publicly available data, allowing you to make an informed decision for your home or business.
The purpose of a general contractor, especially one specializing in heating and air, is to provide expert, professional, and dependable service that a customer can trust. This trust is built on a foundation of professional licensure, transparent communication, and a commitment to completing a job correctly and in a timely manner. Unfortunately, for TLC/Stewart Heat & Air, a number of public records and customer accounts suggest a troubling history that runs counter to these expectations. This information is a direct reflection of real experiences from local users and is presented here to ensure community members are fully aware of what they might encounter.
The issues raised in publicly available reviews are significant and consistent, touching on everything from service quality to business practices. They serve as a cautionary tale for anyone in the North Carolina region seeking a professional to work on their home's critical systems. As a homeowner, your peace of mind and the proper function of your home's infrastructure are paramount. This overview will shed light on what has been reported about this particular business, helping you understand why a careful approach is necessary.
TLC/Stewart Heat & Air is listed with an address at 353 Jonestown Rd #228, Winston-Salem, NC 27104, USA. This address is a point of contact for the business. While a physical location provides a presence, it is the operational integrity and professionalism of a business that truly matters to a customer. The ability to contact a company, receive clear communication, and have a service request fulfilled efficiently is essential, especially when dealing with the vital systems of a home.
According to information available from public records and customer accounts, a key concern regarding this business is its professional licensing status. One review, which cites a conversation with the NC State Board of Plumbing, Heating, and Fire Sprinkler Contractors, explicitly states that the company's license was suspended for a period of time due to an ongoing investigation. This is a critical detail, as state licensing is a primary way to ensure that a contractor is qualified, insured, and operating legally. Working with an unlicensed contractor can put a homeowner at significant risk, as it can void warranties and leave the property owner unprotected in the event of faulty work or damages.
Based on the publicly available data, TLC/Stewart Heat & Air identifies itself as an HVAC contractor, air conditioning repair service, and heating contractor. The primary offering mentioned in the provided information is "Repair services."
- Repair Services: According to public information, the company offers repair services for heating and air conditioning systems. However, customer testimonials highlight multiple instances where repairs were reportedly left incomplete or were ineffective after multiple visits. In one case, a customer's heater remained non-functional despite a part being replaced.
- Home Warranty Service: It appears the company has worked with home warranty companies. Customer accounts, however, suggest that the contractor failed to submit the necessary paperwork to the warranty company, leading to significant delays and unresolved issues.
The provided information and customer reviews reveal several significant issues that act as key "features" or, more accurately, red flags regarding this business.
- Alleged Unlicensed Operation: A major highlight is the reported license suspension from the state board, which, if accurate, means the company was not legally permitted to perform work during that time.
- Poor Communication: Customers have repeatedly noted a severe lack of communication. Phone numbers were reportedly disconnected or went unanswered, and technicians seemed annoyed when customers called to follow up on the status of a repair.
- Unprofessional and Irresponsible Behavior: Reviews describe the business as "very unprofessional and irresponsible." There are claims that the company missed appointments and failed to return calls, leaving customers in difficult situations, such as being without heat for an extended period of time.
- Failure to Complete Work: Multiple complaints state that the company did not complete the repair correctly, with one customer stating their heater was still not working after three separate visits. This reflects a potential issue with the quality of their repair services.
The contact information for TLC/Stewart Heat & Air is listed as:
Phone: (336) 699-6300
Address: 353 Jonestown Rd #228, Winston-Salem, NC 27104, USA
Customer feedback, however, warns that this phone number may not be reliable for communication or that calls may not be answered.
In the realm of home and property services, choosing a general contractor is a decision that should be based on trust, competence, and a history of reliable service. Based on the public data and customer reviews provided, it is difficult to find a compelling reason to choose TLC/Stewart Heat & Air for any heating and air conditioning needs. The overwhelming sentiment from those who have used their services is one of frustration and disappointment. The reports of an alleged license suspension, coupled with complaints of missed appointments, unresponsiveness, and incomplete work, paint a clear picture of a business that, at the time of these accounts, did not meet professional standards.
When a home's HVAC system is on the line, the stakes are high. Lack of heat in the winter or air conditioning in the summer can be more than just an inconvenience—it can be a safety issue. The experiences detailed in the reviews highlight a company that left customers in these very vulnerable situations. Given the available public information, it would be wise for any resident of North Carolina to exercise extreme caution and conduct a thorough verification of this business's current standing with the state licensing board before considering their services. Choosing a contractor with a clear license, positive reputation, and a proven track record of dependability is always the best course of action to protect your home and your peace of mind.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This company's license is suspended from March 2017 through March 2018 due to ongoing investigation, per my conversation with the NC State Board of Plumbing, Heating, and Fire Sprinkler Contractors. He is not allowed to perform work, per this board. My home warranty company sent him out to my house, where he diagnosed an issue and failed to submit appropriate paperwork to the warranty company. 2 weeks later, as I am still waiting on the work to be completed, I called to follow up again only to find the phone number DISCONNECTED. I reached out to the BBB and the State Board for more info, and boy am I glad I did! I don't want an unlicensed contractor working on my house, even if I could get a hold of him! Not to mention he was rude, he seemed annoyed every time I called to follow up on the progress of my repair.Do not recommend! Currently working with the warranty company to get someone else out asap.
May 16, 2017 · Ali GerstnerI opened a service request with my warranty company because my heater downstairs was not working, the request was opened on 1/9/2017 and it was assigned to TLC/Steward Heat and Air. This has been a nightmare, the contractor came to my house 3 times during the last 2 weeks and even replace a part and it is still not working. They are very unprofessional and can never remember an appointment. The worse service I ever had. This contractor is very irresponsible and don't even try to call them by phone, because they never answer the phone.Bottom line don't even think about hiring this contractor unless you want to have the worse experience of your life.My heater still not working and the company is too busy to come back to my house and try to fix it again. I am filling a complain with the BBB
Jan 24, 2017 · Sunny NesmithHe came out of his service are for us because he was the closest that the home warranty could find. He had our unit fixed quickly and professionally. If we lived closer to the Unifour, I would use this company again. I recommend their services.
