We moved to Staunton about a year and a half ago. We decided to completely remodel of home. We remodeled 5 bathrooms, installed an elevator to go to all three levels, and double car garage and much more. We knew we couldn’t live in the house during construction so we purchased a house on Mount Ida Lane off of Lee Jackson Highway with beautiful views. We closed on the Mt Ida house in October. The HVAC unit needed to be replaced so we called the company that had serviced the HVAC unit there before which was Lees HVAC. My son in law and daughter were going to be owning the property eventually. When the Lees sales rep came by he spoke with me and my son and law. He gave us a price to replace the unit with a new system which included an air purifier and dehumidifier. It came to right about $40,000. We asked if there were options to add a two zone system to be sure it would be adequate to heat and cool the house properly. The rep told us we would have to tear the house apart to install different duct work and said with this system we would get the largest unit made and would be adequate. We agreed and I wrote the check. It took them over two months to do the install during the coldest part of the winter. We had to buy electric heaters to stay warm. After the install was completed it still stayed cold. There are two levels. The main level and a basement. The house is about 3200:sq ft including about a 1500 sq ft completely finished basement. The new system has never heated or cooled properly since it was installed. We called them to come out to determine the problem. We were told the duct system would need to be enlarged or we could add mini splits. We explained that nothing had changed since we agreed for them to do the work. We have the same size vents, same square footage and mentioned that half of the house is the basement which automatically stays cool. Today we had a meeting with the sales rep and the owner. The owner told us they did exactly what we asked and that was to replace a new unit that was just like the old unit. Well that was a blatant lie and I told the owner so. The owner called me a liar and was not willing to negotiate any type of adjustment to add a mini split to the house. The bottom line is we told him we should just part ways. If the job had been calculated properly to determine the best system to install we wouldn’t be in this quandary. If we had been told initially we would need to install a mini split system in addition to the items that needed to be replaced we wouldn’t have told them to do it. Now we have to close all blinds and run fans just to keep the temperature no lower than 75 degrees. It’s like living in a cave. We have been called liars and the owner expressed no concern for our situation. Please if you are reading this consider spending your money elsewhere. This review is the only way we can air our frustration and maybe help others to not make the same mistake we made by using this company.

Lee's did an awesome job replacing our furnace and thermostat. From the start, Enrique, Michael & Travis were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. I was given an estimate completion time an and they were true to their word. Its clear, these guys know their craft. I highly recommend Lee's for quality work, that is completed correctly the first time.

I had the best of experiences with them! Tony was AMAZING, I highly suggest using Lee’s and asking for him! He was very informative and kept me the loop of all he was doing and what the issues were. He was so wonderful to my family including my dog. Defiantly someone I would to have to all my AC work if need be in the future! 20 out of 5 stars!

Was a 5 but now think less of them. We had a lot of issues with our unit, that they initially fixed. But then there was a leak that caused part of a ceiling to come down . They initially said it wasn't them, but once they confirmed it was from the unit, they put up a board and refused to do anything more . Talked to the owner multiple times and he claimed they would fix it and never did. Now they haven't routine maintenance. A shame, they really use to be awesome.Update:last year unit stopped working, they fixed it, bit immediately went silent again when we tried to get a service contract. Now again this year unit has stopped working. Really wish I could gi e them negative stars for their professionalism. Nothing against the techs that do the work, but the office staff and owner are awful.

My husband and I are senior seniors(!) and we have a new in-ground pool that we’ve enjoyed all summer, especially with our children and grandchildren. When it started getting a little cooler a month ago, we went to turn on our pool heater, only to discover it didn’t work. It appears that when it was installed, no refrigerant was added. Simple solution, right? WRONG! I contacted Pentair, the company that manufactures the heater, and no less than five heating and cooling companies were given work orders to come fix our heater. Nothing happened. Finally last week, I received the sweetest message from Dana with Lee’s Heating and Cooling, saying how sorry she was for all the trouble we’ve had and that they would be happy to send a technician out to fix our pool heater today. And they did. Caleb, a very nice, thoughtful professional drove two hours from Staunton, VA, to fix our heater. He spent three hours taking the heater apart to make sure everything was working correctly, then added the missing refrigerant. He very patiently showed me how to turn the heater on and off and how to set the temperature. He didn’t leave before setting it himself to the desired temperature and leaving it on.It’s hard for me to believe how many poor heating and cooling companies there are … companies that simply don’t show up when a potential customer needs help. But Lee’s is different. They truly care. And if Dana and Caleb represent what the other employees of this excellent company are like, no wonder they are so exceptional. Give them a call and you’ll be as delighted as I am with their service.
