★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I am not happy with their service, since the boss never came before their team’s first and only visit on April 28 to inspect the units. During that visit, I specifically asked if there would be a service charge and was told there wouldn’t be, which is why I was surprised to receive invoice for $275.Another company had already diagnosed the issue as a leak in the evaporator coil in the attic, but they were unable to find the part. That’s why I contacted Ideal Comfort Systems, hoping they could find the part and provide a quote. When their team arrived at my home on April 28, one technician went to the attic to check the coil and the other to the outdoor unit to check its brand. Within about 30 minutes, they informed me that they were able to find the part, and I would receive a quote on April 30, with installation planned for the following day. I was also clearly told there would be no charge for the April 28 visit. When I didn’t hear back on April 30, I followed up on May 1 and was informed that the cost for the coil would be $2,000. Since that was more than I anticipated, I decided to go with another company to replace the whole unit.I’ve worked with other HVAC companies before, and I understand that diagnostic fees of $90 can apply. However, this is the first time I’ve seen charges for items such as $10 for travel, an $25 for initial visit by the boss, and $150 for labor (Lead guy @ $100--helper @$50), especially after being told there would be no charge.Had I known the actual cost upfront, I wouldn’t have reached out. I’m disappointed with how this situation was handled, especially considering I’ve been an old customer since they installed our unit back in 2002. It’s not the way a longtime customer should be treated.

May 17, 2025 · Cheryl ChangIf I could give zero stars I would. I had a brand new unit installed and after 3 1/2 years there started being issues. I would have to call them to repair and after they did I would have to pay for a service call, which is standard. When the same issue kept happening and I received an electric bill over twice as much as normal I was forced to call them again. They came out again but was not able to enter the attic because they did not want to use my ladder, so they had to come back before finally finding that the problem was in the handler unit in the attic, which was never checked initially a month prior. After ordering the replacement part, they came back to replace it and had to refill the Freon. Not only did I receive an invoice for the service call on the first invoice but another huge invoice for the follow up and replacement calls and the Freon refills. I sent emails to the address listed on the invoice requesting an explanation on the charges because it was not itemized of what I was being charged to which I received no response. I finally received a call asking for payment and questioned about the charges and expressed my concern with being overcharged for service that should have been diagnosed and resolved earlier. The woman got upset and began to get very rude raising her voice with me and my questions and ended up hanging up on my. I have worked in the service industry for decades and pride myself in my ability to have a conversation with someone discussing a difference of onion in a calm manner and was appalled at how I was treated.Worse when I expressed my concern with my unit, which was supposed to be brand new when installed, having so many issues I was told that after day 1 they can start to have issues and mine is 4 years old. The unit that I purchased was a Trane and came with a 10 year manufacture warranty. If they were selling a product of mine and told a customer that I would not have them as a distributor any longer.

Feb 12, 2023 · Tracy CountTerribly rude and unprofessional! I never write bad reviews but this had to be shared. This company came highly recommended so I had them come to complete work on my rental property. As soon as they left and I had paid $171, the unit went right back to blowing hot air. I asked them to come back and received an additional invoice for the REAL issue. I gave them a call to ask about any credits that I should receive for the wrong part being replaced and mentioned that I would absolutely cover labor. I was met with a terribly rude response from both Janice and the repair man, who told me “I’ll go put your old part on there and it can burn up for allI care”. I was in complete shock and disgust for the attitude when I was completely calm and professional in asking for my credit ( also I asked for no specific amount). I would never recommend for their lack of professionalism and utter rudeness to customers who paid their previous invoices on time.

Aug 31, 2020 · KIMBERLY CHAPMANI think Clyde and his company deserve much higher ratings than they have received prior. This company does excellent work and will gladly go the extra mile to save their customers money. Clyde will not try to sell you the most expensive fix, offers a variety of options, and tries to find the most cost-effective solutions. We have used Clyde for the past seven years and appreciate his humility, good nature, and service.

Jun 08, 2020 · Kathleen HinesOur unit breaks down every summer and winter every year. Each time they say it is an issue. The tech came out and put a switch on it and it is still not working hot all weekend long. This has been a problem since we got the unit from them. Very troubled by this especially when we have to pay for the service call twice a year. Something is very wrong.
