I was assigned Diamond Air through my home warranty. They told me at my inspection (which I scheduled after my HVAC maintenance guy told me that my HVAC was leaking coolant and would need to be replaced), that it wasn’t likely that my warranty would approve a brand new HVAC for free due to the refrigerant leak in my 22 year old HVAC unit despite its age and the fact that it was an R-22 unit. They said they could request an upgrade and I’d pay half and my warranty would pay half for a brand new system. I agreed because I didn’t want to deal with further repair costs on a 22 year old system.Fast forward to after the new HVAC was installed, and I noticed that the condensation drain line is leaking water all over my AC closet. I called Diamond Air and left a message. I also emailed Sam at Diamond Air. No one bothered to call me or email me back, so a couple of days later I called again. The woman on the phone seemed efficient as I was speaking to her and immediately scheduled them to come back out but said I’d have to wait until the next day. This whole time I used puppy pads to absorb the water. Someone came, cleaned out the pipe and screwed the pipe down and said to call if there were any further issues.A couple of days later, it was one of the coldest nights we had experienced in awhile. Due to this, I turned the heat on. Over a span of hours (despite the HVAC running and saying it was heating the house), it noticeably never got warmer inside. In fact, overnight it got colder. Unbeknownst to me for awhile (the days prior were much more of a neutral temp) my heat wasn’t working and was wasting electricity instead as it kept trying to heat and ran for hours. I called again and left a message, but I never heard back. I called my warranty back and asked for a different company to handle this situation further since I don’t seem to be getting through. My warranty said they had no record of Diamond Aire replacing my AC and had not paid anything out to them. So I’m now stuck with a broken HVAC and hoping that the next technician my warranty sends will leave me in a better position than the brand new HVAC that leaks and doesn’t heat. Disappointed in this experience.

Two technicians recommended cleaning the unit and installing a UV light, which I paid for. After the visit, I inspected the unit and found it still dirty. After leaving a negative review, they contacted me, asking me to remove it in exchange for coming back to clean the unit properly—something that should have been done in the first place. While they returned, the AC still had mold and debris, and I was falsely told they had “done me a favor” by fixing the AC since it supposedly wasn’t covered by the warranty. In reality, the warranty company had approved a capacitor replacement, which Diamond Air Conditioning never completed.Four days later, the AC failed again. A technician diagnosed a bad coil that needed replacement and stated the unit still had mold and had not been cleaned, despite the prior technician claiming it had been cleaned twice. The technician assured me they would submit the coil replacement request to the warranty company. The following day, the office called, stating the coil was ready for replacement. However, another technician arrived, re-diagnosed the system instead of replacing the coil, and claimed the AC needed full replacement due to a broken line, which had supposedly been missed earlier. While working, the technician caused a loud “pop,” further damaging the unit. When I expressed frustration, my concerns were dismissed, and I was told mistakes happen, the office miscommunicates, and technicians “don’t always do things right.” The technician even asked me if my life was perfect.By Thursday, I discovered Diamond Air Conditioning had never submitted the coil replacement request as stated. Instead, they falsely claimed to the warranty company that they had attempted a repair but couldn’t complete it because I “wasn’t home long enough”—an outright lie confirmed via email from the warranty company. Furthermore, they stopped answering my calls unless I used a different number. Ultimately, the warranty company reassigned the case to a different vendor.Diamond Air Conditioning is disorganized, unprofessional, and unreliable. Their front office ignored my number, their communication was terrible, and their technicians failed to resolve the issue while damaging my AC unit further, resulting in $12,000 in repair costs.Under Florida Statute §501.204, the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA) prohibits unfair or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of any trade or commerce. Diamond Air Conditioning’s false claims, negligence, and failure to provide agreed-upon services clearly violate this statute. I had a terrible experience with a home them. The first technician that came to my house didn’t know what he was doing and falsely claimed that the air conditioning issue was an electrical problem. I called an electrical company for a second opinion, and they told me that technician should be fired. After diagnosing the issue, they confirmed that the unit does indeed receive electricity.I then reached out to the AC company again and was fortunate to get another technician. He diagnosed the problem correctly: the compressor had failed. However, the issue didn’t stop there—this technician failed to submit the report to the warranty company. I have been trying to contact them repeatedly through calls, texts, and emails, but I haven’t received any response. It has now been over a week with no resolution. I recommend staying far away from this service.
