★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Bought a new house from DR Horton 2 years ago with a carrier system installed by Deans Heating and Air. The a/c system and heat didn't work right from the start. I complained about the temperature and they said it's normal for it not to keep up and a 10 degree difference is normal (NOT NORMAL). They were out during the first year and added refrigerant and then the system worked fine for a year (SO THEY LIE OVER THE PHONE ABOUT THE SYSTEM NOT BEING ABLE TO KEEP UP AT 71 DEGREES ON A HOT DAY). Second year it wasn't keeping up and after not having a good experience with their people who answer the phone, not friendly at all we decided to use another company to check it out. They told me it was leaking and added 2 lbs of refrigerant on a 2 year old system. I called them and was told the system is over 2 years old and warranty is only for the first year for labor. I had spent over $500 adding refrigerant!!! As I was getting no where with DR Horton or Deans on a new (2 year old system) which had a paper trail of issues I paid Beach Air to find the leak. I find out the did a shotty (I would use a different word!) on the weld at the condenser line in the attic and it was leaking the whole time! Save your money and use a reputable company that stands behind their work. I am over $1300 in repair/refridgerant addition on a new system that was never installed properly to begin with. I have in writing from the other company I used and they showed me the shotty weld they had to repair. These are not your guys, not customer service friendly and do not back up their work! Since purchasing our BRAND NEW HOME in December of 2023 Deans has been out to work on our system SIX times. Even put in almost a whole new unit in our attic less than a year ago and we’re back to no air once again. We called deans out to see why and their technician Mike came out which is the guy who has been here almost every time. Might I add this technician is not social at all and doesn’t seem to like to speak with women either as I answered the door to greet him he walked right past me and started talking with my husband like I was a ghost standing there. After being at our home for almost 2 hours he comes downstairs and this time he had to speak with me as my husband was in a meeting and says “I think your damper is broken we will have to order and then schedule to come back and fix it” I ask questions and his answer back was I don’t know for all of them and before he left I ask so we will be without air until it’s fixed and he said yes and proceeded to leave. We were without air for almost 3 days and it was 82 degrees in our home, after almost 3 days of that and NEVER hearing back from deans after I even called and spoke with what I assume is their front desk asking for a manager or owner to call and no one ever returned my call. We decided to call another company for a 2nd opinion and they came right out within 2 hours of me calling and that same day they had our air fixed and running within 3 hours. Also come to find out Mike from deans was totally wrong there was NOTHING wrong with the damper it worked fine and the issues were when Deans installed the unit brand new in our home it was totally done wrong and that was causing all of our problems from the beginning. So think twice before you use this company for your heating and cooling needs.

I contacted Dean Custom Air and remarkably, they showed up within 2 hours! Jamie was the technician and diagnosed the problem in minutes... a simple capacitor gone bad. The repairs were completed in minutes, and the bill was fair and reasonable. Thanks again for the quick and honest service!

When he finished he gave us a complete analysis of the results of our semi-annual AC inspection. He answered all of our questions and reviewed our contract. Great job Christopher! Jun 20, 2025 · Phillip CorsiMy husband and I would like to thank Dean Custom Air repairman, Mike, for coming out on a hot Sunday night to fix our AC! After my husband driving 14 hours to get to our house in Myrtle Beach, and after me flying from Nashville to STL and turning and burning from STL to MYR with our grandson for his vacation, an 82 degree sweltering house is not what we wanted to walk into. Because of my husband's war injuries that includes burns on almost 40% of his body, AC is a MUST, and once I explained our issue, Mike said he would be out soon. Mike got right to work and fixed the issue. I know this was not his plan for Sunday night, but Mike, you blessed us with your skills and knowledge, and we won’t forget you. We sincerely thank you for your time and understanding.Dean Custom Air, Mike’s promptness in responding was above and beyond. You have a great employee in Mike!
