### What is worth choosing
When choosing a general contractor or a specialized service provider like an HVAC company, it’s crucial to look beyond the surface. For residents of Louisiana, a reliable and trustworthy partner is essential, especially given the state's climate. The importance of having a functional air conditioning system cannot be overstated. When considering Calora Emergency HVAC Repair, it is worth looking at their history and the feedback they have received from customers. Public reviews and reports from organizations like the BBB can shed light on a company's business practices and customer service. For instance, customer feedback has highlighted instances where communication and timely service were areas of concern. One review mentions a rebranding from Robert Pearson Mechanical Services and details a frustrating experience with a shorted compressor repair, where the customer had to file complaints with the BBB to get a resolution. The reviewer also noted issues with the quality of the installation, mentioning unprofessional soldering and a failure to properly change the metering device during a refrigerant transition, which can lead to long-term performance issues.
Another customer review details a problem with a refrigerator repair, where the company allegedly collected a diagnosis fee but failed to follow through on the repair, leading the customer to have to find another company. These accounts, while specific to individual experiences, provide valuable insights into what to consider when evaluating a service provider. It is vital to research a company's reputation and track record before making a commitment. A professional company should be transparent, communicative, and committed to completing a job to the highest standards. They should also stand behind their work and address customer concerns in a timely and effective manner.
While a company may advertise features like emergency services and a local presence, the true measure of their worth is in their execution and customer satisfaction. For any significant home repair, it is always a good practice to get multiple quotes, check references, and read both positive and negative reviews. This due diligence can help you avoid potential headaches and ensure that you are partnering with a company that is truly worth choosing for your home's needs. The decision should be based on a comprehensive understanding of their services, their customer interactions, and their commitment to quality.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Update: ORHP sent a different company who found there to be incompatibility issues recommended a new air handler was necessary when the condenser was replaced and also found pinhole leaks in the evaporator coils along with leaking from the king valve. They submitted the report in front of me and emailed me a copy of their findings with detailed videos and photos. Something that took Robert Pearson Mechanical Services aka “Calora” a week to do.They rebranded from Robert Pearson Mechanical Services. We had the displeasure of having these techs sent out by ORHP for a shorted compressor. They did nothing to facilitate the process and I had to file complaints to the BBB to get things done myself. Constant back and forth between “Calora” and ORHP saying things were submitted and waiting on parts when ORHP claimed it was not the case. I managed to get a new condenser but the install was not completed to manufacture spec. The soldering job was haphazard and amateur. Tech never walked into the attic to change metering device despite transitioning to 410 refrigerant from r22. I tried to suggest to the tech that he needed to go up in the attic but he boldly claimed he didn’t have anything to do up there.Look, there are a few things here that really need to be fixed up. First off, the pipe size isn’t right for the system, and that alone can mess with the airflow and efficiency big time. Then, when switching between different refrigerants, the metering device should’ve been changed. Different refrigerants have different pressure requirements, so without the correct metering, the system just can’t run as it should and might even get damaged over time. And another thing—did they properly clean out the line set? When switching refrigerants, leftover oils or residue from the old one can cause problems. Ideally, it’s best to replace the line set altogether for a clean start. Plus, if the old filter drier wasn’t swapped out or removed, it could lead to blockages and let contaminants flow through the system, which nobody wants. These aren’t small details—they’re essential for making sure the system runs smoothly and lasts.
Nov 05, 2024 · S MAVOID AT ALL COSTS. My LG refrigerator (less than 2 years old) broke, so I went to LG website for a recommended local service company. Robert Pearson Mechanical was recommended to me on their website. My parts were covered under warranty, so I would only have to pay for labor. Robert Pearson sent out a service man quickly and charged me $80 + tax to diagnose the fridge issue. I was told that the replacement parts would arrive between 3-5 days, with 2 weeks at max. I called 1 week later and was assured that they would contact me when an update was available on my parts. No contact from them for another week, so called back. They did not answer, so I left a voicemail. No call back. I called again several times, and my call was sent straight to voicemail (I assume they were screening my calls at this point). It has been 3 weeks now with no contact from Robert Pearson. I saw that another person in my neighborhood posted a similar complaint online about Robert Pearson's failure to follow through and no intent to actually fix the broken appliances. They seem to be collecting diagnosis fees from the customers (and possibly LG) and never completing the repair job. I now have to find another LG appliance repair company, pay them for another diagnosis, and wait even longer to get my fridge repaired. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Aug 14, 2018 · Dominick MaiaroWe have an LG washer that was vibrating a lot. I called LG and they put me in touch with Robert Pearson Mechanical Services. They responded quickly, in a timely manner. Daniel came to the house with the 4 vibration rods and maybe spent an hour replacing them. He was very professional and courteous, showed me what was damaged. He couldn't be a nicer guy. I recommend this company. I'm not sure of all the negative remarks but I was highly impressed.Dave
Aug 16, 2022 · David PorterI was impressed from the first phone call to the last service call. Each of the three people who helped me was polite, professional, and prompt. It took a few tries to identify the issue with our fridge, but they were persistent and solved the issue—without charging us an arm and a leg. I highly recommend this company!
Dec 12, 2023 · Kate MidkiffOk, a disclaimer first. I don't like talking bad about a business because this is their livelihood. However, my livelihood is being affected because I am out $375 for shoddy work. Every bad thing that you are reading about this company is absolutely the truth. They will do shoddy work and then give you a run around so your 30 day warranty will run out. Also, one of their workers had the audacity to tell me that she would buy the refrigerator from me if the issue persists. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!!!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!
